is it me or can life be cruel

My sister an i grew up an a abusive home my dad would slap my sister around whenever he felt an as we grew up an went our own way i find a great guy that i have been married to for going on 18 years who never raised his hand to me an it would be the last time if he did now my sister grew up an has nothing but abusive realationships one of her boyfriends even broke a beer bottle over her head well she finaly met this angel Gene I love this guy anyway he treated her like a goddess which she deserved after all the frogs she kissed they were together 4years he asked her to marry her an she was thrilled well here is where life comes in she got married this Saturday an Gene Died yesterday so they were only married 4 days my heart is broken for my sister I saw what she went though her life now I saw how much Gene made her smile an now i wonder if she will smile again So is it me or is life cruel
