loss of my father  | |  I find the things I miss most about my dad are the things that used to annoy me. Starting the motorcycle up every weekend when I was trying to sleep in. Having household items packed up in front of my door so we I opened the door, things came crashing down on me.
I see a counselor. I guess I'm not dealing with things very well. I like going to see my counselor. I feel like a huge weight has been lifted off of my shoulders when I come out of her office.
I write letters to my dad, in a journal. I write stories of my dad in another journal. That way I can tell the stories to my kids and they can get to know him.
I always knew I would have an extremely hard time when I lost either one of my parents. I wasn't expecting to loose either of them at such a young age.

| | | 2. growingupthree (16) | 3 months ago |  I have not lost either of parents so I can not truly understand. When I lost my grandfather, who I turned to with all problems, I was lost myself. I found that writing letters to him helped me through the hard times. I like the idea of your journal for things to tell your kids. I think I may do the same about my grandfather as well as some of the other family that has impacted my life the most for my kids. I would expand the journal to maybe include some of your other family. Especially the funny things and good things so you don't focus so much of your pain. It may help ease the sadness that I know you feel. Many*hugs* and prayers for you.
