What is your opinion regarding this expose from Mackenzie Phillips. She said in her interview "that her father was not a bad man but a sick man" I think she is just as sick. She was an adult when she got into this consensual incestuous relationship and is now hitting every talk show. As her father is dead it seems very unfair the he is not able to defend himself or his side of the story. I guess she must be broke and needs the money from this expose. If she is doing it to garnish sympathy she is certainly not getting it from me. I think she is disgusting and is using her experience to get back into the limelight. I am pretty sure some of the experiences she speaks about have some truth to them. What is your opinion? In a harrowing interview with Oprah Winfrey, Mackenzie Phillips, 49, said that she had spent 30 years burdened by the incest, which continued through her relationships with other men and ended in an abortion. The former child star of the hit film American Graffiti and the sitcom One Day at A Time said that after teaching her to roll a joint at 10 and to snort cocaine at 14, her father raped her when she was 17 or 18 while they were high on drugs. http://entertainment.timesonline.co.uk/tol/arts_and_entertainment/music/article6847215.ece

I'm sure there is a lot of truth to Mackenzie's story. I'm not sure there is much purpose other than satisfying her own greed for money. Maybe she should have let that secret die with her father. Hss she no shame? Unless.....unless she turns around and helps other women who have been molested and kept in incestuous relationships nothing good will come of all of this crap that she is putting out there. At least she is sober. Let us hope she stays that way, for her own good.

I don't know much about this story but all I can say is that, we really do not know exactly what happened. There are people who believes in her story and if there are any discrepancies in her statements it could be cause by trauma. Unless we have installed a 24/7 surveillance camera in her household when it happened or did not happen, only then can we tell whether a person is telling the truth. But if we base it upon the findings pf her therapist, it is clear that she really has been in a major trauma.
