He promised not to ever forsake us. Have you ever felt abandoned? |
|
No matter how religious you are and how strong your faith is, there are times of ups and downs. During the trials of down moments, have you ever felt abandoned by God? I do sometimes feel abandoned when I'm the lowest path of my life. There are moments when I feel all alone, and think that I lost my faith ( not totally lose it, but can't deny that thoughts might have came up). I feel so guilty about it, but my humanity and limitation does feel it. That's what I am struggling to totally eliminate it. I fully aware that it's not that He's abandoning me, it's not the fact, only what sometimes felt when I'm in sorrow. Please share and hope we can encourage each other. God bless.

Feelings are strong forces, but it is not feeling we live by but by the faith we have. The scriptures say that the righteous will live by faith. It does not even mention that only those that have strong faith will overcome. It says we live by faith. Faith is holding on to what we believe no matter how we feel and go through in life.

2. hagirl (372) | 3 months ago | I just responded to another discussion called If you could ask GOD one question what would it be. He says he will not put on us more than he thinks we can take. I am to that point now what. What happens when you are to that point? Do things start getting better? Do you die? Or do you wake up and finally realize what you were put on this earth to do, what Gods plan was for you? I do believe the only reason I have not died before now because he does have a plan for me. I definely know he has carried me before and wiped the tears from my eyes at other times. The next time you are by yourself or riding in the car alone, Talk to God out loud. Sometimes it is not enough to whisper our prayers, but we need to hear a little bit more about what we are praying for and what about.

dpauli (309) | 3 months ago | Yeah, you remind me of PUSH, pray until something happens. I believe about He has plan for me, only during the waiting time, sometimes I just feel of being left alone, well, only for about one hour or so, then I got back to reality, out of my feelings, and try to get think in faith. But that's happen many times, that's what makes me sad. I always managed to come back in short period, but the frequency has made me feel like a really bad person.

dpauli (309) | 3 months ago | I think a lot of Christian have get through the same feelings, and it can be a test how we keep hanging on Him no matter what. I understand what's your feeling. Sometimes it feels like want to just give up the faith and living on own way, but thatks be to God He sent His Holy Spirit to reminds and strengthen us. Up till now, I often feels the on and off. But I think we're not fail yet unless we've given up. Keep on believing, let's pray for each other.

macdingolinger (1177) | 3 months ago | I agree it is a test! I think so far we have not failed.. Peter said the trying of our faith is much more precious than gold. So we who stand in the face of great adversity must be truly wealthy! Yes, let us pray for one another. Paul said he was "helped" by the other Christian's prayers. (2 Corinthians 1:11) May we do the same for each other...

4. jlamela (2752) | 3 months ago | No, never. Even at the lowest point in my life, I still believe that God did not abandon me because I am always in a safe place. There are times that I suffer from heart aches from failed dreams but I always considered these things as a good training ground for myself to be emotionally strong.
I always believed in the power of prayers, and if we always pray, God never abandon us. Sufferings and sacrifices are comprises of what life is all about, that's very natural but it doesn't mean God already forsake us. Sometimes those are part of the circumstances of our life on Earth to be in our destination according to God's plan.

dpauli (309) | 3 months ago | Your share has strengthen me, and once again reminds me about prayer, the strength of it. Perhaps I'm just not patient to wait on His time, and feels like the prayers just going nowhere. But thanks again, this is my fight, have to live and move on with His blessings everyday, no matter what.
