Do you drink red wine? |
| |
| I have started this discussion cause i have been wondering if people drink red wine for its health benefit. Like i don't drink alcoholic drinks. but i am considering to drink this for that reason. i just don't know if i will i like taking a small cup of it every day cause i dislike the taste. i have read that we should only drink a small cup of it. and so i am wondering if it is really worth it to buy this and drink this every day for its health benefit. and try to like the taste specially if you are not used to the taste. wuold you drink this even though you don't drink wine for its health benefit. ilke the anti-oxidants content. cause i am really interested on the health reports of its anti-oxidants. i just hope that i will not become alcoholic if i become accustomed to its taste. and also i have been wondering if there are any sort of drink like the red wine without any alcohol in it and so i will still get all the anti-oxidants benefits without worrying the alcohol content. | | | | | |

| | Yes I drink red wine moderately that is half a glass during parties. I drink the sweet kind but sometimes I also drink the semi-sweet and even the dry kind. I know there are health benefits from it but I drink more on socially because I only drink when there are parties like birthdays and anniversaries. And the food that is served is more on the fattening side so I prefer the wine instead of the usual soda. Even if I get accustomed to it's taste I am not an alcoholic because for one thing I can't afford to buy red wine only occasionally. | | | | | | |

| | i am not familiar with those different kinds of red wine. you mentioned the dry kind, the other two are quite easy to understand. what do you mean by dry kind. most of the one i bought before were not sweet. it did not taste good. maybe that was the dry kind. i will try to look for the semi-sweet so it can be easy to drink. | | | |

| | Hi Hotsummer, I never take the alcoholic in my life and I will not try as the taste must be very bad. Traditionally, it is not accepted if a girl take the alcoholic drinks always. But as per the red wine, I love. I love to enjoy the red wine by sipping, utterly getting into the long brewing of the grapes. Scientist indicated that the red wine is good for beauty and supposed that is why I love to take, but one cup of red wine would be enough for me, no more can be accepted as I am easily felt drunk. | | | | | | |

| | oh, that is why i have not buy it yet. cause i don't want to get drunk. there are so many kinds of red wine on the market. i don't know how to know which brand has more concentration of grape seeds which is responsible for the good health effects of the red wine. i don't know if all red wine is just the same in terms of health benefits or anti-oxidant content. but their prices vary. i don't want to grab of more expensive brand of red wine only to discover that it does not offer more anti-oxidants but only better taste or what ever it offers. but for more i think all red wine are just the same in taste. they taste awful. LOL. | | | |

| | There are so many sources of antioxidants out there. Even your homemade fruit or vegetable juice made from fresh organic produce has loads of antioxidants. YOu dont have to drink red wine if you don't like it. There are lots of options. | | | | | | |

| | yeah that is true. i do eat lots of vegetables that has lots of anti-oxidants but i want more . he he. so that to make sure i have ample enough of anti-oxidants to keep my body and my system young and healthy. if only we can calculate how much anti-oxidants we get and how much do we need more. so that we can really take a real step to help our body be young as much as possible. | | | |

| | I am from a household that does not drink any wine or alcohol ..But I thought I can share a small titibit of information that was given to me by a doctor cousin of ours .He did say that red wine increases the good cholestrol in the system. | | | | | | |

| | wow that is really good news. it makes me want to run right away into the grocery now and grab the first bottle of red wine i will see on the grocery. and just get back home and immediately open the bottle. and have the first sip of red wine. and just imagine how it is working now in my system and how much help it gives to my body. and how it promotes the good cholesterol on my body. there was study i have read online that those people who does drink red wine everyday have good lower incidence of heart disease than those who don't . specially the research was done on people who eat lots of cheese and so the red wine really decreased their chance of heart disease despite their lifestyle. | | | |

Enjoy yourself ! | | | |

| | Hi hotsummer, if you are not used to drinking alcohol then don't begin just because of some health claim. If it's anti oxidants you are after there are better sources. The actual good things about red wine is it has iron in it, which you can get from many other sources, and it is known as being good for the heart in small amounts. But if you aren't used to drinking then the detrimental effects more than outweight the good effects. People drink for pleasure not for the medicinal qualities inside the bottle. Red wine can stain your teeth brown, and upset your stomach. Any form of alcohol can act as a depressant which is why I stopped drinking red wine as it did have that effect on myself. Any alcohol can have a detrimental effect on your liver. If it's anti oxidants you are after consider red grape juice, or eat pomegrantes or drink pomegranate juice. Also cranberries and cranberry juice. I hope this helps you to make your mind up. I should add that years ago I did take a course of wine study connected with my work and believe me any reports probably do not highlight the difference between an absurdly expensive wine which will be uncontaminated and a cheap bottle which will have additives in it. | | | | | | |

| | yeah i felt some problems too with my stomach before when i tried to drink red wine. i have not tried pomegranate juice and cranberry juice. but i don't think that those concentrate in botter are really natural or contain significant amount of those fruits. and so i think it is better to eat the fruit itself but we don't have those fruits locally though. but i think that there is red grape juice i seen on the market on the bottle also just liket he red wine but minus the wine. | | | |

| | i drink either red or white wine, i got through patches of it. depends on what i feel at the time. i've got a good stash of wine, only cause i like it and will drink from sweet to dry and even an old stash of port. i've got bottles dating back a few yrs. there's loads of other sources of anti-oxidants, like gogi berries, acai berries. plus others, without having to drink wine when you don't normally. | | | | | | |

| | I enjoy red wine and would reccomend the wines of South East Australia. I am not a 'drinker' in that I have never drunk so much as to become really intoxicated, but I do enjoy a glass of red wine every now and again when I can afford it. There are many food types that are supposed to have anti-oxidants, but I prefer red wine to tomatoes any day... | | | | | | |

| | yeah tomatoes have anti-oxidants too. anyways, i remember they say that the older the wine is the better it tastes. but i don't know though if it true. but all i know the older it is the more expensive it is. | | | |
