why does we dont forget our ex-girlfriend or boyfriend?

One is always in strange road, watching strange scenery and listening to strange music, then one day you will find things you try hard to forget are already gone.

this sentence comes from my ex-girlfriend also, I have forgetten her for a long time, during this time i am very sad and can't see any hope in my future, but now all is pass by with time goes.

I don't have any ex boyfriend or any boyfriend presently but yea I can say whatever the matter is, we can never forget our ex boyfriend or girlfriend. Maybe we get so attached to the first one and never forget them as she/he is the first love and we will remember them and the moments that we spent together because he/she is the first love we found.

We cannot really forget our past relationships. I believe that there is no such thing as forgetting, only moving on. Me and my ex lasted for about five years. It was really a hard and painful break up. I never thought that I could get over it, until I learned to move on. Yes, move on because I must say I never really forget the person. There are still times wherein memories will flash on my mind. The way we were before, the things we do, the foods we eat, the places we've been to are constant reminders which will eventually won't really make you forget.

Maybe I have a different opinion with you. I will always consider my hubby as my first 'true' love, that's why I married him. I don't deny though that all the love experiences I had from my past relationships from my first ex and to my hubby right now have somehow helped me in becoming who I am now, but I just could not compare the love I have for my hubby with my first ex. Most probably, it was because I have loved him, but I was not in love with him. Even when I broke up with him, it was truly over between the two of us and there was nothing left, well, except some memories that did not bring anything to me. I think the impact was more with my second ex as I almost believed he was my soul mate!

it depends, if it has negative or positive impact with your life. though, you cant help but compare them to your new relationship, which is unfair but you really cant help. i remember when my new boyfriend used to be so angry coz everytime i want to tell something i always mentioned my ex, like my ex dont like this and etc and etc. then my new bf told me to just go ahead and go back to my ex. then i realize that i already made comparison between them. so if i cant help but think about their differences then i just be quite and smile. that people are not the same. and i choose to go coz i want some change so i guess i need to left everything behind and learned to accept what is new.

Yes I think most people do not forget their first boyfriend or girlfriend, and sometimes it is quite nice to hold on to those special memories. But it is also healthy to remember that relationships fall apart for a reason. Therefore, instead of looking at the past with rose-tinted glasses on it is better to try and learn from the past and apply anything you have learnt to newer relationships so that they can be healthy and happy.

how long has she been an ex? i imagine you're really not over her. if it's recent, then give it time,it will get better. if it more than 10 years ago, then go get help. it's good not to forget so one would not make the same mistakes of the past

Regardless of how we broke up, I'll try my best to forget my ex and move on. The first thing to do is to get rid of the remembrance of him. Anything from gifts to phone number can be keep away or thrown. The more I see those stuff, the more I think of the him. Then I'll be busy with something so I won't try to call him. Eventually, I'll start feeling better and try to move on.

you appear to have some good thoughts abut your ex-girlfriend which is good. i only remember the reasons we broke up and it makes me sad-- that is why i have moved forward-- i want to forget but it will always be there..... Best to you
