Is American Tourister a good brand?

I recently bought a luggage bag of American Tourister. I paid almsot four times the amount which costs a same bag of local brand. The advantage is that I got global warranty for three years. Is American Tourister a good brand?

It's a very good brand, but like everything else you get what you pay for! they have the low end luggage and the premium luggage,plus your also buying a name and paying for that as well! It's a status symbol! just hope it holds up at the airports, the way they treat your luggage now a days is a crime! tdemex

Thank you very much for the response. I am happy to know that it is a very good brand. I was feeling bad after buying it because I paid a lot for the name. I am happy if the name holds and I got good waranty. I am very fond of purses and hand bags. But, it is the first time I am buying a luggage. I use old ones which my parents gave me.

I worked on the road for many years! Flew all over the USA, it really depends on what you want this for! I used matr luggage and it actually held up well the soft type canvas holds pu the best! the zippers are usually the fist part to go! A warranty is good but the hassle of getting it replaced is to time consuming! While yours is broken what do you use in the mean time? My way is cheap and it served me well over the years! I wasn't out to impress anyone and never got to fly first class! tdemex
