I can not find our blender. No clue where it is and I am tired of looking for it (i really think it was in the box that didn't make it to our new house - our food processor was in that box too). I am giving in and buying one. I don't' want to spend a lot of money though because I don't use a blender very often
I am looking at 3 items:
1. Hand/sick blender
2. Traditional stand up blender
3. Food processor
I have never had a hand/stick blender so I have no idea how good they work. I have owned a traditional blender and a food processor, I have used the food processor a lot more than the blender.
What is your experience with the above products (brand doesn't matter at this point) and which would you recommend?

I have never owned a traditional food processor. I have owned a hand/stick blender and it was very handy making soups and when my kids were younger I made baby food with it.
I have a blender that I only bring out when I am making frozen cocktails like Pina Coladas or Margaritas. I also make milkshakes with my blender.
I have a mini chopper/food prep machine. I use that daily to chop up garlic and onions and herbs. I love using it and it makes chopping/mincing a snap!
Have a nice day and happy myLotting!!!

I have 1 and 3. 1 is practical because it is small and easy to use. In addition you have less to wash. But, if I have a big amount of things to mix like soups for instance then I prefer the food processor. The stand-up blender to my mind takes too much space and looks like I would have more things to clean. Besides, I cannot have too many machines which have almost the same functions.
