Who is your all time favorite POET?

There are two poets that I like very much, and they are both Danish. Their names are Michael Strunge and Dan Turell. Michael Strunge jumped out of the window 23 years ago, because he thought that he could fly. We was very young when he died, and he became a bit of a legend. He has written a lot of poems, and I like most of them. Dan Turell has written poems as well as novels, but I like his poems the most. He often wrote about life in the city. Unfortuneately he died from cancer 16 years ago.

George Meredith's Modern Love is the best! Even though he didn't have much out there, I think that he has created on of the best!

Hands down Edgar Allan Poe. He captures my personality. The macabre and the mood that he sets just with his poems. Most of the poets that I know are mused by inspiration and happiness and awe. Poe wrote about things that makes one depressed.

He is one of the purest forms of writers of maybe the modern age. He did not do it for money and I also think he did little else but write. He did not need to be positively inspired to be able to write. He just wrote.

I think he is the Van Gogh of prose and poetry. A tragic figure that was not appreciated when he was still living but is venerated now that he is dead. Sometimes it is true that an artist is worth a lot more dead than living.
