How easy is it for you to apologize?

For minor offences, such as accidentally bumping someone in the street, I find it very easy to say sorry - as in "oops, sorry" then forget them and carry on with my day. For more important things it is much more difficult. A little over a year ago, just before I began tackling my alcohol problem and other issues and sorting my life out, I had a nervous breakdown at a party thrown by my parents. My mother's 60th in fact. I said some truly terrible things to them, though I remember very little (not due to drink - I just blanked it out) and the next day, after gathering details from other family and friends, I felt so sick I could not even call my parents.

I wrote a long, considered letter. I promised them I would get medical and psychological help. I apologised and I told them I loved them. It was the hardest letter I ever wrote. Apologising is easier if you know the apology will be accepted. I find apologies are harder when you really mean them and care if they are accepted

The apology for me depends on the circumstances. Some people are easier to apologize to than others. There are situations where apologizing just doesn't seem to be enough. Swallowing your pride and admitting that you are wrong can often be harder than apologizing.

its not that difficult to apologize for me. if i have made a mistake, i usually apologize right away. i dont have a problem with it at all. i know people who do though.

I don't have a problem with saying I am sorry when I have done something wrong. I hate having to do it of course but I know that I must because I was in the wrong. I can also say I'm sorry if I am not the one at fault because sometimes you need to have peace more than you need to be right. That's the part of getting along with the people you live with thing. If I know that I have hurt someone, I apologize. I don't intentionally try to hurt people but sometimes I am surprised when someone will be hurt by something I say. My adult daughter says it is because I say it like it is, I don't "pad" the truth enough. Well I can do that but it seems almost like a form of lying so often I just state the facts. You would be surprised by how many people do not want to hear the facts or the truth, they want you to "sugar coat" it so it is easier to hear. For myself, I just want to hear the truth without a lot of "sugar coating" so I can deal with it and move on.

it is hard for me to say i'm sorry because when i did someone said you don't mean it. that is one reason. another reason is my problem with forgiveness. i know i am hurting myself but not forgiving but i never forget. it just isn't the same as it was.

for me the word SORRY really had a meaning....thats why if i said sorry to someone i really mean it....and if someone say sorry to me he should mean it, if nah i feel bad about it...:)

I believe it depends on people. For me, there's no issue on saying "I'm sorry". Since little, my mom raised me to apologize when I do something wrong. SO I have been used to say sorry when I did something wrong. It's like children who are shy and don't give a kiss to their parents before they go to school. It becomes a habit and when there is a moment they have to do it, it will be somewhat awkward. The same goes to saying sorry. People should start to say it as it is natural. I know my aunt died last february and she did alot of bad things to me and to my grandmother. She has cut contact with us for years but i know that she do feel responsable. The feeling of guiltiness is a big burden to carry on our shoulder. If she did apologize, I think she would be happier when she would be in her last min as we only knew her death 2 days later. On the other hand, I think it's harder to accept that we are faulty or that we are wrong. Some are really stubborn and don't realize what they did. Apologizing won't hurt anybody and in some case, we should do it before it's too late. As soon as we realize that we are responsible for a certain situation, it's better to say sorry as son as possible than saying it 10 years later when the other person doesn't give a damn about you anymore. ...but let's not forget that there's an old saying that "late is better than never"...

When it come to giving an apology I think that I can do this fairly easy. I am a person who doesn't like a lot of drama in my life. I really can't stand for someone to be mad at me. It worries me to death if I have done something to someone and really didn't mean to. Which has happen to me. I have said something and never realize that I hurt their feelings. I then find out that I have. I will get to them as quickly as possible to apologize.

I believe somebody should say I am a extroverted guy and it's very easy for me to say "I am sorry" for his/her improper behavior, but we don't know if this apology comes from his/her deep heart or just it's his/her habits, don't care for this apology seriously.

yes, indeed, "I am sorry" is very easy to say but it's very difficult to understand the true meaning behide them and follow them,,,maybe when you say "I am sorry" to sb, that means you must have an introspection for your bad behavior, and you should pay more attention for your behavior later, you should draw some lessons from it, or else, this apology will be meaningless...thanks and good day.

I find "Sorry" a very difficult word to say sincerely, because I know half the time I don't really mean it and hate to cheapen the word. If I want to apologise to someone, I usually just try to do something special for them to show them that I'm remorseful...I don't know, me and "sorry" just don't go together... I don't know why, I think it's because people use it so frivolously nowadays that I don't think that when I say it, it means anything anymore.
