NBA Idea  | |  I have an idea and i think it will help every team in the nba to do their best since the start of the season. It goes like this. Why not give the 1st and 2nd seed automatic plus one score against the 7th and 8th seed of their series. This will protect the 1st and 2nd seed of each conference for a possible upset. For me, they're the top teams of each conference and should be given credit for their good performance in the regular season. They should be alive in the next round for better NBA playoff action.
It's not impossible that the top 2 seeds could be ran by a very hot team and loss in the first round of the playoffs. Not seeing the top seed in the second round is a great great spoiler. It will also spoil the finals match especially in each conference. I'm not an anti-warrior but i really think they just gave the Utah Jazz a good time and gave the spurs a gift for defeating Dallas in the 2007 playoffs.
Making my idea more interesting, the plus one score against the 7th and 8th seed should only be given if and only if the top 2 seeds have swept the season series against the possible 7th and 8th seed.
With this each team will compete to the highest level they can against their opponent especially in their own conference from the season opener to the last game of the regular season.
I'm sure this will drastically improve the rating of the regular season games of the nba. I think my idea will improve the NBA and be more exciting from the start of the season 'til the end. What do you think?

You might as well work your way to the front office of the nba and make your changes proposal. You will be rewarded if its good for the nba, you will get famous, and you will earn money through it.

Your idea won't prevent upsets and probably wouldn't even slow them down. Upsets are part of the game. No team can play at their peak all season long. A good organization will do their best to make sure their team is able to play their best ball in the post season. I've played a lot of ball and I've seen ideas like this implemented before and the players hated it and the result didn't do anything for the fans either.

This idea of mine will not prevent upset cause anything is possible but it will decrease the chances right? That's what I'm up too. There's nothing bad about it anyway. Every team can benefit of it. Maybe those that have been implemented before as you said were not as good. I don't see any negativity about this. It's all fair. And fans will surely benefit from this.
