 There are lot of different personal reasons why people go to church. Some people consider it as an obligation, some think it's a need, and some thought it's what they want and it will make them happy.

1.  pinklemonade (366) | 4 months ago |  I don't feel I need to go to church in order to have a good relationship with God. It is something I would like to introduce into my life more often though but only because I want to, not because anyone tells me they think I should. I would like to go to learn more about things and hopefully become a better Christian. I think when you feel like you have to go to church and you don't really want to then the love has gone from your heart and you need to take a step back and think about things.

 careguarden (511) | 4 months ago | Yeah, it's really a different feeling when you go to church simply by pure obligation. Your mind and heart was not in the church you're fooling God and your self. Since you know what is right. But I admit it, that sometimes I go to church because I felt like it was my obligation as a Christian. But I honestly confessed my feelings to Jesus Christ and told Him the reason why I felt that way. And you know often times It makes me feel good inside. That even though I don't like going to church but still I tried because I have to. Then I learned that Jesus Christ is Love.

2.  buggles64 (547) | 4 months ago |  I go to church because I want to, and because of the feeling I get after I go to church. I feel more connected to God and more energized to get through the week. I come away knowing that no matter what happens, God is always on my side and will never leave me. Friends come and go, and I know no matter what, God is always there for me, whether I go to church to worship or if I choose to stay home and worship on my own. I also love the feel of the congregation when I go to church, it's like going to a baseball game.

| careguarden (511) | 4 months ago | Yeah, I also felt the same thing. God is the one who give me energy and strength to tackle as the week begin to start. And at the end of the week, it feels good to tell Him everything that happened and lay all my pain and frustrations on His hands. My week is never complete without going to church. And If I got sick I just watch a mass on television.

3.  Rozie37 (7158) | 4 months ago |  I have not been to church in a while. For no other reason than I have been moving so much. I go to church because I really enjoy fellowshipping with other saints and hearing the word of the Lord. There is nothing that compares to it.

| careguarden (511) | 4 months ago | Yeah, nothing compares to the feelings of being with God and people who give praises to Him. There's so much grace and blessings I received after going to church. That's what I've experienced after all this years, so much peace and love in my family. Hopefully you can get back to church any time soon...

I also wouldn't enjoy that much if i was to feel obligated to go so i go because i want to not because i feel as if i need to. God invites everyone to have a relationship with him but hes not the one to push and try and budge you into anything so i feel people shouldn't feel obligated to go to church if thats not where you feel you need to be. | |

| 5. levite (482) | 4 months ago |  I go to church in obedience to God's command to fellowship with one another (believers or saints) to encourage others and be encouraged as the Day of the Lord is fast approaching. Going to church to fellowship with the saints is my strength and my life. There I find new strength and hope for the rest of the week and strength and hope to face every challenges and trials in life. It is my "battery and fuel" in life as a Christian.
