I see so many ads about loosing 30 pounds but nothing about gaining any weight. I am 5'8" and 116 pounds. I need to be 10 pounds heavier to be an "ideal" size for that height. People usually guess me at 110 pounds
. Any suggestions to gain weight for an vegetarian who would like to fit in women's clothes?

It's the opposite of me I want to lose weight because I gain weight easily everytime I eat sweet food, carbohydrates or so much meat. I think you should try to exercise to boost your appetite. Eat a lot of carbohydrates and protein. I have a friend before who is skinny but now he gained a lot of weight he told me that he took vitamins. There's a supplement available in the market for those who want to gain weight.

I myself an underweight too. I am trying to put on muscle for the sports I play (underwater hockey, waterpolo anf lacrosse.) Someone told me that I need to be working out and drinking protein shakes either before or after trainings. So I'm going to try that and just hope for the best. I wouldnt recommend a fatty diet because that does other things than just put weight on. clog arteries and such.

When you want to put weight on you really need to do it in a similar way to if you were trying to lose weight. What I mean by that is you should gradually increase your calorie intake and take marginally less exercise than you do normally. I would recommend eating a little more of the things you already eat like bigger portions and then you will gradually put on the extra weight. 116 pounds for a woman of 5'8 is not that underweight so you could go to 120 and see how you feel because a lot of people go too far because they set themselves unrealistic targets.
