Let's see ... where do I start?
Shop Around was probably the first single ever produced by Motown.
Going back even further, Berry Gordy, the founder of Notown, actually wrote Lonely Teardrops for Jackie Wilson. I also believe that he worked with Bill Robinson (Smokey) on writing Shop Around. the name "Motown" was shortened from Motortown, because of Detroit, even back during those days, being the place where cars got manufactured.
Quite a lot of the songs, if not all, that you mentioned, seem to get overplayed for me, but quite a lot of the first six Temptations albums, I usually play the entire album from beginning to end. Quite a lot of the Supremes albums (before they became Diana Ross & The Supremes) are the same way, play it from beginning to end. Then there are the one-hit wonders, such as Barrett Strong's Money (That's What I want). Barrett, himself, wrote most of the lyrics of The Temptations' songs, probably from 1967 onwards, along with Norman Whitfield.
In case you haven't heard Eddie Kendricks singing in his "normal" voice, on the Meet The Temptations album is this song titled May I have This Dance.
There is also this song that Harvey Fuqua (former lead singer of The Moonglows back before Motown was established) wrote was My Whole World Ended (Since She Left Me). it was intended to be a Temptations song, but because David Ruffin was quit-fired from The Temptations, it ended up being a David Ruffin song. The lead vocal of this other song written by Norman Whitfield & Barrett Strong titled Why She Have To Leave Me (Why Did She Have To Go) was originally sung by David Ruffin, but unfortunately, someone taped Dennsi Edward's lead vocals over it.
There was also this Miracles song that was a B-side to one of their singles titled Happy Landing. It was also done by the Temptations, & was originally intended to be one of the songs on their Sing Smokey album, but Motown opted to use The Way you Do The Things you Do. A David Ruffin-led song titled Love Is What You Make It was also intended for that album, but David Ruffin had his headphones too loud when he sang the lead vocals, & Smokey, himself, could be heard feeding him each song line before David sang it. This song was also originally done by Eddie Holland (who, himself, wrote a lot of songs for the Temptations & Supremes, because he had a problem with stage fright). Unfortunately, the master tape was either lost or stolen.
One good song that was done by many Motown artists was written by Smokey, titled, Who's Lovin' You. It was a big hit for the Miracles. The Supremes also did that song for their first album. My favorite is the Temptations version.
David's older brother, Jimmy, had a big hit with What Becomes Of The Brokenhearted. The song was also done by The Supremes, & The Contours with Dennis Edwards singing lead vocals.
This is only just a few that I like. There are probably quite a few that I'm leaving out. Probably the stuff I can enjoy after David Ruffin was no longer a Temptation are two albums where they teamed up The Temptations & The Supremes. There's also a 1970's song sung by Dennis Edwards titled A Song For You. One other song is Treat Her Like A Lady.
Nowadays, Motown Records is owned by MCA-Universal. I believe they got bought over by Vivendi (or something like that), a French company.
