What is your purpose of joining Twitter?

I joined twitter because I was curious what this site is all about. But I found out there's nothing we can do there except posting tweets and updates about our lives. It seems like a diary going public. But it's nice because I can post things everyday what I am thinking about the world, people and life on earth.lol! I can open up things also like what I would like to receive this Christmas, joke!but other than posting updates, there's nothing more.

I haven't yet joined Twitter. Don't know why I got so bitter about it. But my friends have joined recently, there reason being 'I heard it's another site like Orkut'. Well, I doubt if they even know the meaning of social networking.. As someone has said earlier, it's just for tweeting about your daily routine and all that. It's funny that when there was a prime attack on one city here, all the people could think of was 'tweeting'
