Brett Favre fan...or Packer fan?  |

|  I am a TRUE Packer fan! When Brett played for the Packers we all admired him, but since he left I don't feel the need to cheer for him especially when he plays the Packers! I am bitter about how things went down between him and the Packers and I can't wait for him to actually RETIRE! In my mind he ruined the opportunity to go out with class. Anyways, BIG game this Monday night at the Metrodome...GO PACK GO!!
What are your thoughts on Brett Favre?

| |  Hi dishie7, I am an Eagles fan but my significant other is a huge Packer Fan. I know that this Monday night is going to be a big game and I agree with you about Favre. He really admired Favre, so much that when he left the Pack, I asked if he was going to root for another team. He said he really didn't mind it so much when he played for the Jets but playing for the hated purple team (that's what he called them) was too much. I read Favre's interviews and some of the stuff he said something to the effect that "true Packer fans would understand his decision". I had to ask what the heck does that mean. My beau said maybe because Packer management didn't treat him very well when he wanted to come back to the Packer's. What are your thoughts? I mean besides wishing he would retire (I do too!)

| | My thoughts are this...Packers management thought he should retire because he lost most of his abilities in COLD weather, which is absolutely true! Look at what he did with the Jets...started out great and cumbled at the end not even making the playoffs. I realize he was injured, but if his injury effected him that much that they didn't even make the playoffs, he should have benched himself. His teammates in New York even said he should have benched himself...but no, he had to continue to start to get one more record under his belt. So now he goes to Minnesota to play in a dome where he may have a chance to do good, with the best running back in the league. Brett said that all he wants to do is prove to the Packer management that he can still play...come on, are we in high school now? We know you can play, but with limitations (the dome and Adrian Peterson are a big plus for Brett I'm sure). Anyways, I hope the Packers beat the Vikings both times this season so we don't give Brett the chance to say "I told you so." GO PACK GO!!!! | | | |

| |  He isn't wearing the yellow and green1 He is the enemey, especially when he is now in Vikings' purple! I can see if he is playing the Bears. Then if The Vikings win , it is good news. but Monday's night game? when he is playing against the Packers? No way should a real packers fan root for Favre this week.

| |  Arrrrrgh! YES, a true Packer fan roots for the yellow and green and Brett lost that uniform years ago. I am a Bills fan and do not mean to give advice to folks who know their own true colors, but Brett has traded in his legend for the color green - - not Green Bay.
He has given great memories and he still has the skills, but when he fades back to pass, true Pack fans will root for him to slip and fall down or just toss the ball to someone in that old familiar uniform he used to wear.
We had some great Bills move on, like the legendary Bruce Smith - - and we wished them well - - but not THAT well.
Go Pack and go Bills, squish the fish Sunday night!

| | Well I am also a packer fan more than a Favre fan. I do think that the organization as well as Favre should have worked the situation out better. It wasn't that big of a deal when he went to the Jets to play but now that he is a Viking I can understand why Packer fans are a little more hateful these days. I will admit it is a little bit odd seeing him in a Vikings uniform after all the years as a Packer. No matter who he plays for it is still interesting to watch him play even if it is to see him throw the big interception.
