Strong desire to learn one more language  

You need patience, and persistence on practicing those languages, and strong will to keep on learning them. You shouldn't stop a day, and keep on reading your dictionary, and learning new vocabulary everyday. That is one way to go.

You have been trying to learn several language. As to me, i have only learned two languages, Chinese ( my mother tongue) and english. I have learn english since i was a child, but i am not good at it, especially in verbal and written english. It is fortunate that i am still learning english. I sincerely believe that i can make my english more better in a long time hard studying.
Go back to your question. I want to give my personal viewpoint, but have no useful suggestions on it.

It sounds like you've been immersed in the other languages you know, so it was probably a lot easier to learn those languages. It's really difficult to learn a language when you aren't exposed to it frequently. It takes practice and dedication.

I'm learning Russian right now. A trick I learned to make it easier to learn new words is to associate them with an image that sounds like the word, so it acts as a cue for the word. The example I was given was the Russian word for waiter is afeetseant, which kind of sounds like efficient, so think of an efficient waiter. Or the word for water is vada, which kind of sounds like vida, the Spanish word for life, and water is life-giving, so I think of that whenever I have to recall the word for water. I didn't think it would work for very long when I first heard it, but it's what I still do after about a year of studying and it makes remembering words really easy. Just go with what first comes into your mind when you hear the word.

Another trick I learned is to review the new words I learned that day right before I go to sleep. When I wake up the words I was having trouble with are easier to recall.

Above all, practice. The more you encounter words the quicker you will recall them. Learning a new language takes time and a lot of practice. Be patient and don't give up.

We have the tendency to think that we did our best, but in reality we did not.

Besides, learning a language is not as easy as ABC. I think you should focus with one language at a time. Learning should be fun and not troublesome. Work hard. Don't give up.

If you take the foreign language as a knowledge to study, you'll get bored soon and hard to move your study on.
If you really understand what's definition of language, you'll get to know how to master a new language.
