How do you think about bingo?

I think that Bingo is a form of entertainment when there is no money as a bet. But if money is involved, then it becomes a gambling because it is a game of chance. God would never approve a gambling game where money is involved. It's not God's way of prospering His people. A lot of times, the Bible speaks of hard work where our hands and our strength is involve to get what we need. God never played bingo and any other gambling game.

In the US many bingo halls are owned or sponsored by the catholic church. It has become an accepted means of fund raising. The fire department I used to work for funded a large percentage of it's costs through bingo. I think if you consider the fact that the money people are paying is going directly to a charitable organization, it puts a different slant on it. Online bingo is another story, as I assume that is done simply for profit.

First of all, there are sites on the internet where you can play Bingo just for fun with no money bet. At some of them you can win prizes just for playing. I don't know if they have a referral or affiliate program, but they are fun, non the less.

I do like to play Bingo as a form of entertainment. For ten years after my father died, my mom, sister and I went to the local volunteer fire station and played Bingo on Friday night. We met with friends and neighbors and it was a good and clean form of having fun and we raised a lot of money for the fire station which depended on fund raising to keep all their equipment running and buy new when needed.

As in all of life, things done to excess are wrong. But raffles, bingo and other games of chance that help to raise funds for good causes are not wrong in my eyes. If you spend $10 donation to help a church, homeless shelter or fire station, what does it hurt to play a game and socialize with your friends. You are doing good for your community.

I am not criticizing anyone's religious or personal beliefs. I'm just telling you my feelings. There are many evil things that go on every day, but I don't think Bingo is one of them. It is a personal choice.
