How conscious are you of the toys your children have?

I have heard such related news about chinese made toys. In our country, there are a lot of toys that are made in china. I haven't heard any recall about toys but I just heard it. I have warned my kids not to buy any toys. I am conscious of the kind of toys that my children will buy. I would prefer my kids to make their own toys from indigenous materials.

I have been watching what my kids have for toy's, I hate to say it but 99% of what is on the market these days is made in China. My youngest daughter will ask her teacher if they give her a car or something at school if it will poison her. She is afraid to play with most toys. We are getting ready to open up an online store I guess next year with some hand crafted toys for kids. It is about the only way to do it. I have found about 9 people in our area that make crafts, and we want to get together and start making kids toys.

All I can say is I am glad I've got no children. There is no quality control! There is no real way to know where anything is made any more, as things advertised as made in the USA are full of crap made in places definitely else where with out standards of any kind.

Yes, I certainly do watch what I buy for the children. So do my daughter and daughter-in-law for what is bought for the children. It was really bad when they did that and hard to find toys then too. I am glad they discovered it and stopped the sale of many toys from China. I do hate it that a manager of one of the factories killed himself as a result of this. It is a sad thing. His honor was in question.
I hope they have it all sorted out and have changed the paints used. I still watch what is bought for the children.

My daughters are now 11 and 6 and hardly buy any toys. They do have doll house etc but i have seen to it that they dont buy any chinese made toys. This recall and warning for chinese toys is not new so i have always strictly avoided buying any chinese toys for them.

Mattel Inc. must have some research before making such toy products. Since they have released these hazardous toys and have recalled millions of peso then the company may come-up with another kind of toy or alternative that doesn't give hazard to there target customer.

I always choose the toys that I buy for my baby consciously, simply because he's still a baby, and he always likes to put everything in his mouth and bite. Hence, I always pick a good quality toy, wash it before giving it to my baby.

I got a shock when I read "Fisher-Price" from your discussion. This is my favorite brand of toys that I buy for my baby, as I think the toys are in good quality, and also they provide toys that help developing kids' skills from age to age.

I read the article you provided in your discussion, and it was in year 2007. Hopefully the company has learned from the lesson, and be more concerned about the quality of their products.

China is slowly making its way into the top of the manufacturing business, chinese products are less expensive than those products being imported by other countries, its just too bad that most of the toys ahs been found out to contain some hazardous contents, lead paint i particular, but in one of our class room discussions we have heard that these lead paints on vchinese products are just an alligations because some of the manufacturing firms has considered chinese products as a threat, surely these products can penetrate the market easilly. who knows, again we need to exercise much care in buying toys for ourselves and for our children.

Parents should be aware of the toys they are buying especially that are made of plastics and should take care or watch always their children when playing to prevent accidents or hazards. China made products are always complained that their products contained ingredients that are hazardous to the health of the consumers just like the issue of the melamine of the milk products of China. This products should be the focus or should be check carefully by the government. And the consumer should be aware of the fact contents of the product before buying the product. It really a big loss for the company because world-wide toys are recalled from the establishments, and paid damages. Nowadays, it is important the consumer's awareness to the products that they are buying for safety.

Why did the company produce or make toys which have lead paints and magnets or any tiny things where in they know that it is dangerous. hmmm i think there are substitute to lead paints where it is less toxic hmmm ..... The company should inspect what they use in producing or making their toys to ensure the safety or their customer and the quality of their products...
