How to do keyword research if you are interested in Website development email this discussion to a friend?

Here are some tips my friend told me about. More steps I can share later but lets start with the 1st step of making sure its viable commercially.

Step 1: Commercial viability

Let’s have a look at our keyword’s commercial viability (does it have the opportunity to be profitable?) Keyword: credit repair
Visit Adwords.Google.com/select/AdTargetingPreviewTool
This is a tool Google provides to Adwords’ advertisers to test the ads. 2interesting things about it: You choose the location, so your analysis is not misled by the way Google returns demographic related ads. You know exactly the number of ads with one click.
2. For this example, make sure you are using Google.com, USA is chosen as country and leave the State as “all regions”.
With 398 ads, we know 2 things: It is a market where there is money. It is a very competitive market.

To get into a market like this one, we need to grab our “Google Glasses” and really drill down. We can’t enter into a market like this one going after the main keywords as its way too competitive as is . . . We write down in our journal: Main keyword: credit repair. Commercial viability: YES. Competitive: YES. Number of ads: 398 in USA.

Step 2: Competitive intelligence
The search for credit repair shows 33,900,000 websites. With quotes it goes to “only” over 4 million… It is a very competitive niche. In what follows I will show you what to look for and how to analyze the information. At this stage of the analysis, we look for 4 main things: Windows of opportunity (universal search, web 2.0). Sites difficult to move (edu, gov, big authority sites). Monetization opportunities. Terms to refine our search.
And keep your eyes open to see what other information we can learn – GOOGLE tweaking.
