how to open a conversation with foreigners?

I don't think it is a big problem to start a converstation with a forigner. You can start a conversation by introducing yourself. You can tell them your name, your work, and the place where you live. You can ask them about the place where they live, the climate, and cluture of their place. But, don't force them to talk if they look as if they are not intereted to carry on the converstaion.

Its very simple on condition that you want to open a conversation. You may be shy when meet foreigners for the first time, but it is really easy sometimes.

For example, it is pretty safe to ask them where are they from or just open a topic via a joke. Asking what someone does for a living or what is their job are also work well. Don't choke when you are speaking and put your personality out in the open show that your not afraid of telling them who you are with truth.

If you have done it so well, forget it and try your best to succeed next time.

when i was still working in Malaysia as a band singer we normally do customer rapport in between sets,we go down stage and go to table and make some friendly conversation..this is how i usually ask..hello sir!ma'am!im jhasz im from philippines.how are u?where you from?how do u find us performing?hows the weather in your country?how do u find your stay here,are you here for busness or pleasure,or are you working here?are u from here only or just passing by.....or and so on and so forth..if i ask about his job i ask like"if u dont mind me asking?what kind of job do u have or where are you working?or what line of business are u into?sometimes its not nice to ask abt personal so i just wait for the other party to open abt that topic...

It is always my pleasure that I can meet and make friends to some people from other country because you can also learn from them about their place and culture. Once I have to start a conversation with a foreigners, I always ask his location, family, if he/she is working and if she/he visited our country for cultural interest.

I have a lot for friends from different countries. At first, I am afraid to communicate with them because of racist. But at time comes, it was very easy to mingle with them. Just have a good communication and just be true to yourself. We have different culture, language and traditional. We both need to understand each differences.

Especially now, I have a special someone that is a foreigner. Never thought, being an understanding, and caring to me. We always communicate to each other.

I think have to see the situation at that time, so they are not bothered.
I have many friends who have the different country, and very nice to know them well.

i would just love to see a foreigner visiting my country and praising it!
the first thing i'll do is i'll just greet him like "Hey, Welcome To Our Country"
but starting conversation is not a big deal for me at least!
i would just start by like " Hey, Ssup? So Could I Help You Out with the places?" and would just start a rapport with him and let it continue......

well the fact that they come from a different country is where you should start from: welcome them, introduce yourself, ask for how much they've been to your country and what they like/dislike about it and so on. Once you get to know each other better you can invite them out and show them around. To me, opening a conversation with foreigners is easier:D
