Gandhi the film.

Quite honestly, I ain't a fan of Gandhi; I just consider him a cunning politician.

Of course, the Marxists and Gandhians have and would have portrayed him as a messiah since decades and they have been overwhelmingly successful.

Not that he didn't deserve it completely, but he did make many a mistakes of which we are supposed to pay the price.

I had, long ago read a book by Swatantryaveer Savarkar, his contemporary freedom fighter and a bitter critic of Gandhi and Gandhism. I also read Nathuram Godse. The questions raised by the former against Gandhi are absolutely valid and are still unanswered by even hardcore Gandhians. Gandhians resort to ad hominem [against Savarkar]when demanded an explanation.

I haven't watched the film much, though.

It is true that we haven't done much for those great people who laid down their lives and youths for us. We're eternally indebted to them. But mere words like this don't help either!
