Believe it or not this has a very simple answer. The biggest contributor to overweight americans lies in the food. It is all of the sugar consuption which leads to fat around the stomach area.
If you think you eat good and watch out for calores, etc. Have you ever checked out the sugar in the low calorie foods? Some have up to 15-20 grams of sugar.
And if you arent looking for more healhier foods, you probably are consuming about 50 grams of sugar per meal. That is huge!
I have completely cut sugar out of my diet and in the first week I dropped 5 pounds. I was at 130 (which I am only 4'10) and now I am down to 121. My goal is 115 and I know it is possible. White sugar is very unhealthy and its in every food americans eat.

Americans are getting fatter because of the food that we eat. Our food has so many chemicals and preservatives and colorings and flavor enhancers. All of these things contribute to weight gain. Our bodies try to protect vital organs from these impurities by surrounding them and our organs in fat. When we can rid ourselves of these things, our bodies will release the fat more easily. If you read the labels on your food, you will see how many non-food ingredients there are. Try to find foods that do not have so many. Organic is great but that doesn't mean that your food is chemical free. High fructose corn syrup is one of the worst offenders. It is cheaper for manufacturers to use instead of sugar. As bad as sugar is, it is still better than high fructose corn syrup. All low cal and no cal foods have artificial sweeteners. While they have little or no calories, your body doesn't know the difference. The problem is that artificial sweeteners produce the same result in the body which is the insulin response. When you eat, your sugar level rises and your body produces insulin. Insulin will cause the sugars to be stored in fat cell. So, even if you are using artificial sweeteners, your body will produce insulin and store sugars in fat cells. My husband was 280 lbs. overweight. He lost 140 lbs in 8 months. He still has more weight to lose, but he is well on his way. He started walking as his exercise. The doctors do not want someone nearly 500 lbs. to start any strenuous exercise. Walking definitely helped. He changed the way he thought about food. He began a cleansing program that he has become affiliated with. He feels great, looks great and is lighter and healthier for it. So, read labels, watch your portions, start an appropriate exercise program, cleanse your body. Always consult your doctor to monitor your weight and blood pressure. You can always message me if you would like to hear about the cleansing program. Good luck!
