since i feel the bible is only a guide and mostly made up stories i cant help ya much. i have read several versions of the bible and find it all misleading and selfindulged.

but if you want to learn the stories in a more simpler manner watch some of the movies made based on the bible there are some good dipictions in the movies. ie The 10 commandments- There are more easy to find even on the net.

I am not sure if there are Christian bookstores in China and in particular, your place. It is really difficult to suggest which book. The next best thing would be to google and I'm sure you will find a lot. Simple Bible study books will be good.
Try to get hold of a good translation of the Bible, the one that you can comfortably read in terms of clarity of the language used. Older versions, though good, may give you difficulties. I'm glad that you are interested. Keep up the good work.

Hi getbrowser. "Where to find it in the Bible", by Ken Anderson might an idea of what you are looking for. It is written in very plain english, and the alphabetized index is really good for finding specific topics. I have seen other ones along the same line, but I liked the simplicity of this particular one.

So far my knowledge on the version goes the 'Good News Bible" is the best for all. It is written in the modern English and the illustration are are quite comprehensible.
