who taught you how to swim? self-taught?

I recently watched the worst sea disaster in the Philippines and I was surprised that many of those who died didn't know how to swim. They had the courage to travel by ship unmindful of the disaster they face. It should have been different had they known how to swim.
Do you swim? who taught you?

I don't know how to swim. How i wish you could teach me. Do you know how to swim? can teach to me the basic?

Yeah, i feel sory to hear that to... But, to they whom live near the sea @least they should can swim, But, i dont know.. Anyway i can't swim too...lmao i have the oppurtunity to learn to swim but i just got lazy to do that...lol
Beside i reside on highland, and far from sea. But i still wish that i can swim someday...if i have to! God Bless and happy lotting!

my uncle taught me the basic swimming skills ,then I try my best to improve my swimming skills .now I can swim 1000 meters or longer distances.
