I keep losing my balls

I have my nose pierced and choose to use the horseshoe type jewellery that has a ball at either end so that it can be removed easier. The trouble is that I keep losing the balls on the end. I don't like to screw them on too tight because then I can't undo them and change it. Also I have been in hospital a couple of times lately where they have asked me to remove it. Sometimes I wake up and one of the balls is missing or I will be itching the outside of my nose and I feel it drop! It is really annoying.
Do you have a problem with losing the backs of your earings or the balls of your body jewellery?

I have only just recently had my ears re pierced, so far I haven't lost any of the backs but when I was in my teens I was for ever loosing the backs off my earings and having ot buy more or using the backs of others. Sometimes it was because I didn't push the backs on far enough and also because I think I wore some earings more than others and they just got so loose they slipped off while I was sleeping.

The thing I fear of it happening is that if the jewellery actually falls out say at night time then I will wake and the piercing with have grown over!! That would definately happen with my nose. The trouble is as well is that the balls cost £3 each but a new piece of jewellery for my nose is £6 which includes a ball at either end, so at the end of the day it works out cheaper to buy a new one but on the other hand I now have a load of horseshoe shaped jewellery with no balls!!!
