Are you a recycling enthusiast? I am not just an enthusiast, my enthusiasm actually have reached the point that it borders on being crazy LOL I like resurrecting old things and give them new life. I collect things for a hobby and discover a lot of fascinating innovations. Some people are not so keen. They would rather buy new things and throw the old ones. Do you recycle things? what in particular?

I don't recycle in the sense of putting paper in a bin and setting it out, because where I live you have to pay a very expensive fee to own a recycling bin. But like you, if I need something for the house or for whatever purpose, I'll buy it used or pick it up in someone's garbage and fix it up. That type of recycling saves a TON of money! Clothing wise, if my socks have holes I'll throw them away, but other clothes that can still be worn and enjoyed I'll donate to a charity or give to someone I know who can wear them. Although my husband and I are financially stable, we shop at Goodwill for clothes and other things such as books because you can get perfectly good things for such a good price. We also have a compost pile in our backyard where we put yard waste and anything else biodegradable. We use reusable cloth bags to shop wherever we go, but if we underestimate the amount of product we're buying and must bring home plastic bags, we'll use those as trash bags or kitty litter bags so we can save money by using something else. We do a lot of this both to save money and because I don't understand why people must be so wasteful of resources, so I want to do what I can to be smart about that. It's simply unnecessary to throw out perfectly good things.

I always thought since USA is a rich country, its citizens will be a spoilt bunch, who wastes things. After reading your post, I think I have to change my thoughts about Americans. I really appreciate that a 21 year old woman has given such a beautiful and matured answer. I hope our people also learn some of these good qualities from people like you.

Thank you for such compliments! I'll be honest with you: many people in this country are extremely wasteful. I think many take the country for granted and the bad people set the mood for the entire country, unfortunately. There are many in this country as well that set to change that. My personal opinion is that I have to lead by example. By proving that I can do things (recycling, save for retirement, own a business, etc.) at 21 with no college degree and working for myself, I hope to provide inspiration for others older or less fortunate than I that you reap what you sow. Thanks once again for the compliments. They were much appreciated.

In India we recycle each and everything. Of course the new generation or entirely different, they just throw away the old things and buy new ones.Whereas we who are more than 40years old, always recycle things. The list of what we recycle is long and if I start writing it here, there wont be any space.

Recycling! I recycle my daily garbage use to useful manure or fertilizer for plants. I don't throw my wastes in to garbage van but i collect them in a big bin and make it compressed . After 10-15 days garbage will start decomposing and converting in to small particles. After a month the whole waste is converted in to very small particles which are very helpful for plants.

sure, recycle is important, we need to recycle materials like glass, metal or paper. we started to kill our planet a towsend of years ago, whith the invenction of plastic. I recycle glass bottles, plastic bottles and other object, paper and metal, i also use some materials like organic waste to grow plants doing compost in my garden.
