Lapulapu was the first Filipino who fought against the colonizers of our country .He was always depicted in the plays as a man with strong arms, very muscular body and with long hair.
Anyway, the Lapulapu I would be telling you about is not the hero from the island of Mactan. What I will discuss to you is the lapulapu, the fish.My late parents used to buy the fish and steamed it.They put lots of garnishes on top.It is delicious. Now, I can order them in the Chinese restaurants. The last we had it was in Causeway in Timog Avenue in the Philippines. It was very delicious.I wonder why the fish was named after a valiant hero?I wonder who in our country called the orange fish such a name.I actually do not know how it is called in other countries.I wonder..Does anyone of you know? Actually, they say that lapulapu is an expensive fish.My biology teacher said that it came from the sea. I just wonder if there are lots of it in the sea surrounding the Mactan island.
