How do you over come shyness to meet people and make friends?  | |  I am basicall y a shy person and find it hard to make new friends. I find myself feeling a bit nervous and I"m sure it shows. How do you work past your shyness? I supose I could make a bold statement (for me) and ask would anyone here on mylot care to be my friend? LOL. I guess it's a first step and that's a start any replys are greatly appreciated.

Sometimes making friends is the scariest thing in the world but there really is no way of escaping it. I used to be quite nervous and then would just force myself to say something. Anything. "Hey, how's it going?" works nicely.
