Only one responded, you are obligated to choose it as the BR... do you agree?

When choosing the best response and you only find one response which is a way off tangent, will you choose it as the best response for lack of a better choice?

I don't think so. In fact, I am not obligated to give a BR to any posts with numerous responses until I feel that someone has truly earned it. After all, what's what purpose of giving this award right?

precisely, the best means the best, if you are not convinced that this one is the best then why give it. good point. cheers!

It depends on the quality of the only one answer, anyway, we may let the standard down. It's an encourage more than an implication that I will give the best answer to you whatever you response. However, I will comment the only answer carefully, it's a respect too, the same meaning with the best designation.

If the response isn't all that good, then I would say no. You are not obligated in any way to give any best responsses. I have given them, as it has made me feel good to do so, but I was never obligatted to give any if I don't want to. I have had some discusions that more than one person deserved the best response, and in that case, I just go back and read the responses again, and then I will give the best response to teh user who had the best answer to the discussion. It would make it eaiser if we could give more than one best response, but since we can't, I want to make sure that I do it right. If you don't feel like giving best respoonse to th discussion, then don't as it doesn't help our earning either way. Good luck to you and happy mylotting.

No, I wouldn't. It's not compulsory to award a best response, and if I had 10 responses and their wasn't a really good one, I wouldn't award a BR. BRs are to recognise quality contributions, so I think they should only be awarded to the very best posts.
