Does Examiner.com pay $10 per 1000 page views or is that nonsense?

I currently write for Associated Content which has "set" page view commission amounts, like $1.50 per 1000 views. Examiner seems like a very promising and legit site but what I've been hearing about the pay per 1000 views sounds kinda hazy.
I'm coming across a lot of pages saying that they pay $10 per 1000 unique views normally. If this is true, great, I would like to make this my "main" site to write for then and put Associated Content 2nd. If this is not, then I'm gonna have a hard time deciding here.
Can anyone clear this up? I've been on Associated Content for a few months with 66 articles and I have made a grand total of $75 so far. My monthly payments are increasing by the month I've been noticing. So those of you who have tried examiner, you think I can top that or should I stick with Associated Content?

Well, if I were you, just stick with associated content. I have read that humor and it is hard to believe what they are saying. It is kinda stupid, I am not saying that they are, but it sounds so impossible. I'd rather stick with the one that you are sure you are earning. Don't be fooled by those flowering words, because for sure there is a catch for them, at the end of the rainbow. Continue your associated content, and mylot of course.
Mylot is my first site that I can truly trust. :D

Hehe, I agree! I'm really beginning to love MyLot. I just joined yesterday. I love the whole idea of earning for simply participating in discussions. How long have you been part of the MyLot community? What do you usually do to earn money here? I'd love to hear your story!

Thanks. I'll keep up it up for a few weeks to see how I do. Hopefully it's all well. Best of wishes!

Though I've never written for Examiner.com, I've heard from many people that they do pay. However, 10 bucks per 1,000 page views is kinda bad if you ask me.
I write for eHow.com, and have only gotten about 3,000 page views there. I've already made about 50 bucks so far via PayPal. So, I think eHow would be a better match than Examiner.
However, I have 60 articles on eHow and have been a member of eHow for the past 3 months. Maybe I should try Associated Content. I heard they were pretty good, and you seem to be making a bit more money than I am on eHow with about the same number of articles.
In the end, it's up to you. You can try out Examiner for a few weeks to see if you like it. But, I would stick with Associated Content and maybe give eHow a try. :)

Article writing is good for passive income, esp in AC...
but you can make more money from writing quick reviews (100 words) like you do in Ciao
there's a great money-making site I know
You get paid for writing short reviews about products/services/people...
they pay 50 credits (50 cents) for 100 words -- that's pretty easy..and you could easily do that in less than 3 minutes...
you also earn 10 credits (10 cents) for grading products/services/people...
and 1 credit (1 cent) for rating products/services/people...
when you have 2000 credits ($20)-- you can request payment via paypal and they pay really fast....
it only takes about 3 days to earn 2000 credits ($20)...
so an extra $20 every 3 days added income aint that bad if you have the time for it....
if you have more time..you can earn even more...
just be patient if your comment is pending...it doesnt take more than 24 hours for the credits to be added to your account...mine usually is approved iin 12 hours
it's the Green and White banner in my porfile page (imrc) --below the Paypal banner..a truly legit site ..one of my faves!!!
might wanna give it a try...good luck!!!!

I'll give it a look, though I'm not really big with reviews. I tried a few of them myself. One was for a coffee maker. Absolutely hated the process! I'll give your site a look though. Maybe this might be something I'm interested in.

I can't remember what the exact pay is (I don't write for them) but I do remember hearing that it is MUCH better than AC. Have you tried writing for other sites? There is Textbroker, eCopywriters, Content Divas, Demand Studios, Need-An-Article, and a few others that I can't think of right now. If you are looking for some more money, I would try these sites. It's ghostwriting and it is a "pay per piece" with no page views or anything...but, they certainly pay the bills :)

Wow, most of those websites I've never heard of. Maybe I should look into them! Thanks for the valuable information. I'm going to bookmark this page for later. I love to write, so this looks like a wonderful opportunity for me.

Personally I would stick to the tried and true income maker. Certainly try the new site for a while in addition to what you are doing and see how it works out.
I have done some writing in the past but it was only writing copy and there is no residual income. I often wonder with all the articles that I had written if I had put them on some place like Associated Content or the new one that you mention whether it would make a residual income worth while. Unfortunately I hear the rates keep going down which makes me pause.
Unfortunately I live in Canada and do not seem to be able to generate the upfront payments that Americans get and I believe there are some I cannot write for at all. It would be interesting to find out from one of your writers what kind of hours you put in and what kind of income is generated.
The problem with sites that pay a lot seem to get flooded with the gamers that are just in it for the money and then the sites go bankrupt leaving a lot of unpaid bills and a lot of angry participants unpaid as well. Associated Content seems to have at least weathered the recession.

...Hi handsoeitaliano, I also write for Associated Content, with nowhere near the amount of articles you have written or the income. I have not heard of Examiner, so I cannot comment. But I would say this, from your comment it is evident, that what you are writing for Associated must have very good appeal to their readers. If I were you, I would continue to write there and increase your input. You seem to really be going in the right direction. Build your audience and watch your income grow, as you are already doing. Good luck in the future.
