GM Wesley So, a chess prodigy, currently the 2nd Youngest Chess Grandmaster and 7th youngest in history. He has a lot of followers in Chess Sites, Even had the most discussion on those Sites. I was following his game two years ago when he topped one of the tournament in Manila where veteran chess players from around the country participated. He was then 13 years old. He became the youngest grandmaster in the history of the Philippines. I admire him because of his patience in thinking a lot of maneuvers and tactics. He is an inspiration to a lot of young and aspiring wood pushers. happy

GM Wesley So, if you take a look at him, is a typical boy next door. He seems so calm during tournaments which is a good sign. His insights and overall assessment of position over the board was also notice by Veteran GM annotating his games. His rise to stardom is quiet awesome, isn't it?

Recently he was invited to participate in a group of strong GM with an average ELO of about 2620+, the SPICE CUP, although he lost one game and draw the rest. He had one game that i was able to follow, i think its against Rauf Mamedov, he miss a winning line that leads to a draw. I wish he had some more strong tournaments like this to expose himself to a high level competitors.

Yeah! hopefully, he'll get invited in some strong tournaments, and given a chance i know he could deliver. Hope he also caught some prospective sponsor and media support just like Carlsen got, imagine Kasparov training Carlsen. I wonder whats next for him, He missed the Junior Championship just to finish his study. I read he don't have any coach now, i think he needed it too, to atleast evaluate his strength and weaknesses, with these i know he could easily reach 2700+ rating..
