Which DEVELOPED country would suffer the most economically if oil prices doubled and stayed at that price? USA? UK? Canada? Australia? Japan? Germany? France? Italy? I think the USA. It's more dependent on cheap oil than the rest. Europe and Japan have had more expensive gas/fuel for many years so people there don't use as much.

We would suffer I'm sure. Partially because we don't have efficient public transportation and I don't mean busses. But we are made up of metropolitan areas that are not always connected to each other. Like the suburb I live in is considered a suburb of the biggest city, but I am in a different county even. But there is only 1 bus route from my county into the next. It is not like I can say I'm going to hop the train to go here or there within the surrounding counties, there isn't one so we must drive or carpool to get where we need to go.

Maybe if oil prices do double, more buses routes and train tracks and stations will be built. Although it would take time for people to adapt and the services to be put in place
