I had the strangest day a couple of days ago. I decided to go shopping in the morning, so went to a precinct, parked the car up, went and did my shopping (with my head completely in the clouds!), then at some point between paying my ticket in the machine, and getting back to the car, I lost the ticket! It costs you £10 to get out of the car park if you lose your ticket (another huge rip-off: it only costs £1.20 for the length of time I parked there!), which I couldn't really afford, so I was panicking.
I retraced my steps right back to the machine, but couldn't find it. Then I remembered a little rhyme a friend told me: Tony, Tony, come around - something's lost that can't be found. (It's a prayer to St Anthony, who's the patron saint of lost things). After I said it, I turned back around, and it was right on the ground in front of me! I couldn't believe it!
So then I had to go to the Post Office to mail something. Parked in another car park, but had a good walk to the P.O. I got there, and there was a HUGE queue that I waited in for around 15 minutes. Then I got up to the desk, and realised I had stood there the whole time without the blimmin parcel, which I had left in the car! D'oh!
But the girl was lovely! She said ok, when you come back, just give me a nod and you can just come straight back to this station instead of waiting in that big queue again! Score! Lol!
So I couldn't wait to get home, because obviously I was just being a complete disaster area! I went home, and realised I had forgotten to get coffee - which I desperately needed! So I had to go back out again.
When I got to the supermarket counter, I decided that I would buy a lottery scratchcard, which is something I NEVER buy, but someone in front was buying one, I saw them and thought hang it, I'll just buy one of those things too.
I won £20!
The more I think about it, the more I think all of those things were just meant to happen, and although things kept going totally wrong all day, it all kind of came right in the end! It just felt really strange.
Anyone else ever had a day where everything went totally wrong, but ended up pretty good because of it?
