I assume you are a Filipino like me as only Pinoys are fond of eating it. For those who are not familiar with balut, it is a fertilized duck or chichen egg with a nearly developed embryo inside that is boiled and eaten in the shell. It is a common street food in the Philippines and usually eaten with a pinch of salt.
My husband really loves to eat balut and can finish 4 in one sitting. He will not eat supper when he ate that though. You will feel giddy when you eat too much of that. But it is popularly known to strengthen your knees and for those people who got low blood level.
I do not like to eat balut as I cannot stand the almost developed chick inside though I must admit that the liquid on the shell is really tasty. I can eat only those white part and the yellow part of it but not the chick.
