Knack for languages: do you have one?  | |  The Philippines is a multi-lingual country. 87 different dialects which some are so different that can be classified as a different language. It is not uncommon to see someone can speak at least two dialects aside from English. Some people are so good in picking up a language and others are just slow and not interested at all.

| | | 2. sandymay16 (1330) | 3 months ago |  Hi, I am always interested to learn new languages or dialects. I am cebuano speaking but I still speak the Filipino in straight sentences when I had to. I can understand Ilonggo and speak some words with the accent. Then i can understand and speak some words in Masbateño since my dad is from Masbate. Then I knew some common phrases in Bicolano and Waray because we have relatives in those areas which speak those two dialects.
Then in college we were required to take up Spanish though I forgot most of it but the common phrases and words are still not forgotten. Then I took some French lessons a few years back.
I just enjoy doing it.
