who started giving gifts?

It is the feeling of thoughtfulness that pushes you to give. maybe the one who started that gift giving is a gift himself that is from above.. Yes anyone could give gifts no matter what its status in life. Gifts are nor really measured on the amount of the gift but the thought that counts. A gift coming from the heart is much valuable that a gift given just to empress someone. Anyone of us has a giving heart, a heart willing to share.

well gift giving is even mentioned in Biblical times. The 3 Wise men that came to see the Baby Jesus brought gifts plus, when a King went to see another King, he brought gifts in the Old Testament. It was common practice almost since the beginning of time.

Giving of gifts expresses a lot of meanings. We give gifts out of love, recognition, showing gratitude or to thank a person and also as a must in certain cases. We can give gift to anyone who deserves it....even to a person we don't know,e.g once in a religious ceremony all the old people were given gifts. I enjoy giving gifts to people but also taking from them.
