Are you matching conscious? Do you dress up with matching things?

I am moderate in seeing the matching while dressing. Dress will be matching especially while going out, like same colour saree, blouse but I do not care what colour slippers I am wearing, what bottu on forehead, same colour bangles etc. except on the occasion of going for a function. What about you? Are you particular about colour matching?

Can't really say I'm color conscience, but I do attempt to not wear clashing colors. I usually wear black shoes so they will match anything I'm wearing. I do my best to wear tops that are the same color as the design in my skirt. I don't wear clips in my hair so there is nothing to match up.

You are like me, neither too particular nor not at all particular, in between.

Hi Buchi, I always try my best to have matching colors while dressing. I would feel uneasy if putting on clothes with sharp contrast colors which are not my favorites. I like dark colors skirts matching with light colors blouses in the same colors. Like deep purple skirt and light violet color blouse. Blue jeans match with light or dark color t-shirt or blouse. I seldom put on colorful clothes with different colors of designs and shapes on them. I prefer monochrome color clothes. I sometimes wear suit or attire in the same color but different color of button and binding I don’t wear bangles so I could save the trouble to pick the ones that match my clothes every time going out. I know there are different buttu stickers available in the marker. I wonder you have tried any of them before or you just love the traditional one! I think there are for the convenience for those who don’t have time to prepare the tradition one. Take care and happy posting

Bindi or Bottu to be kept on forehead - Maroon colour bindi on forehead image
I was keeping traditional kumkum or sindhoor in the beginning of my married life. But I was a working woman then and with three children to take care, pack lunch, provide breakfast and run to the office mostly single handed as my husband was on transfers for 14 years of prime period of my children being young, I hardly had time to put base in round shape and then kum kum on that and adjust without any extended patch, I thought sticker bottu is convenient. This change was for convenience. I know many sticker bottus are available in the market. But I always want to be simple hence I use only round maroon colour bindi (bottu) for my forehead.

I’m sorry to say that I don’t have any idea what kumkum and sindhoor really mean I do wonder is it all the married women have to use bindi when going out. Does this relate to courtesy or it’s just a traditional practice. Or can we know whether a woman is married by looking at the type or color of bindi on the forehead merely. at least at the moment, I know round maroon color is for married woman! Which one is economic? The traditional one or the sticker? Am I asking too many questions here? Hope that this won’t bring you any trouble and inconvenience Thanks for the attaching the photo to show me the beautiful maroon color of bindi. I can see the word kumkum again at the bottom of the pack on my right. Is this the traditional type powder form bindi? Lol...I can help asking another question here again Buchi!

Hello Buchi_bulla. I am matching conscious because when I go to work or play, I pay much attention to my appearance. I feel good this way, otherwise I don't feel myself. I think that it is very important for me as a teacher, an example for the students.

Of course. You have to present yourself good before your students. I have some problem with mozilla firefox. This discussion and one more earlier one are not opening. That is why this delay in replying.

Very true. My husband says fashion is what you do. It does not come from somewhere. If it looks good for you, you follow it. If others like it, they will follow and it will be a fashion.

Well, yes, I enjoy matching some things, but I try not to make the matching stuff too obvious or too matching, if you know what I mean. Sometimes I will match my shoes to my jewelry, or my bag to my jewelry, stuff like that. But mostly, I try to stay with certain colors when planning my wardrobe in general, then it is easier to match without too much effort, it comes more naturally, which always looks good!

I understood what you said puccagirl. It means matching to the core, i.e. perfect matching in all respects is it not? Well I too think on these lines only. It looks very filmy type if I wear everything in the same colour like dress, bangle, shoes, bottu on the forehead, hairclip, jewelry, finger ring, toe ring, leg chain etc. I make only a fair colour match always.

While I don't wear things that match exactly, I do try to wear co-ordinating colours.

Even though I am a male, I am very fashion conscious and I try to match my dress accordingly. Preferably my belts and shoes will be matched and of course my belt will be matched with my trousers. The same thing goes for my socks also. Color matching always gives a elegant appearance. There are a very few people who can carry themselves without color matching their dresses.

My God, Matching in Belt and socks, that is too good. As you say, matching presents ourselves very well. We look elegant.

Hi Buchi, I only care about the dresses and not caring about the hair clips, nail polish, bangles etc. I never did the same in my teenage now I will really feel embarrassment to follow the matching code. Now the younger generation is very much conscious on matching. Last time I visited my house and gifted one dress to my brother’s daughter. I told her ‘go and wear the same I want to see whether it is good for you or not’. After a while she came back by wearing the dress and it was very much suitable for her. To my surprise, she changed her bangles, sticker kunkum, hair band and even the ear rings, all were matched to her new dress. (she is only nine years old). I surprised as well as happy to know her beauty conscious.

Oh my goodness, 9 years old and so much beauty conscious? But one way it is good. They want to present themselves good and not clumsy. It gives good impression wherever they go.

I am not so particular in matching. For me covering the body is important. Just i wear a sari and suitable blouse,Bangles may or may not match. Pottu or slippers also I don't bother to wear matching. For me attending the function is important. But for that reason, I don't dress like a rustic person. i want to look like moderately decent.
