Do you drink water before taking meals?  | | Some people who's in diet said that it's better to drink a lot of water before taking meals as it makes them feel full thus makes them eat little. Yeah, it's true that it's healthier to drink water before taking meal as it enable for our stomach to immediately digest food. But drinking too much water before eating it dilutes gastric juice and weaken its digestion function, causing the food unable to be digested and absorbed completely. That's gradually cause the intestines and gastric diseases.

I know I should have a lot more than that but I just don't seem to each day. I think water has many healing properties and can really help with digestion. Our body needs 60-70 percent of water, and we need enough water to supply our body's need and in order to prevent any certain diseases causing of insufficient water in our body for digestion. You're right water has many healing properties.

You don't need to drink too much water before your meal to start the feeling of satiety. I think about an 8-16 oz glass should do it for most. Besides, I think more acid is produced when the food actually hits the stomach.

So after taking meals then it's good to drink plenty of water.

Because it will wash out all the leftovers and acids in the stomach before new food enters. And it's good good either to drink fruit juices, soda,tea, etc., before taking meals. Water does not dilute gastric juice in our body it's only when we drink too much water. There's no such thing as harmful when it comes to drinking water. That's what I know.
By the way some research said that it's better to drink water after drinking tea. Because tea contained some elements that cause to dry our skin and can affect early aging.

I read that people in some countries drink warm drinks like tea to do similar things. I never heard this about drinking water before every meal. I do remember people saying not to drink cold drinks. It's better than having to force myself to drink water before every meal or drink something warm. lol
