What movie you disagree with critics review?  |

 Hi all, sometimes critics is mostly spot on in giving critics, but in some movies, I think they are really underrated or overrated the movie. I've rant about how boring Michael Clayton in my previous post, I think it's boring yet it received tons of Oscar nominations. I disagree mostly of all blockluster action flicks, like Transformers, GI Joe or Terminator Salvation. I love them all, yet they all are trashed by critics. I think the last good movie I watch which given low grade by critics was Surrogates, starred by Bruce Willis. I think it surprisingly good and fresh idea. I thought it's a no-brainer movie based by the review but it contains much depth than that..So, any similar experience like mine my fellow myLotters?

1.  jonjee0203 (1654) | 2 months ago |  Well, I have yet to see those latter movies like 'Surrogates'. I thought Michael Clayton was good and deserves the nominations. I missed Terminator, and GI Joe. Transformers 2 was mostly noise and the visual effects were too quirky to be wholesome. Storyline continues to be weak for most movies including Transformers. This year is a bad year as no great movies cam on to the circuit.

| sophisticated_boy (527) | 2 months ago | I agree Transformers 2 is too over the top and noisy, but I really really like the first one, I even watched it 3 times in the cinema. I don't know what's missing in the second installment though, too much robots and less human touch? I don't really care about the story if I watched a summer blockbuster movie, though it would be better if it can be combined like The Dark Knight last year. This year not so many great movies indeed, I questioned whether it is necessary to add Oscar Best Pic noms up to 10 nominees this year, so far only Precious and Hurt Locker and probably some year end movies that have buzz. I missed out Hurt Locker since it got little promo when premiered in Jakarta. Here It surprisingly premiered advanced than US premiere date. When I want to watch it, the cinema was not playing it anymore:( | |

3.  crimsonladybug (1925) | 2 months ago |  The Cohen Brothers movies....pretty much all of them. They are always so highly praised and supposedly so brilliant but I just don't get it. All of the good parts are always in the trailers and then the rest of the movie is boring. I haven't seen one yet that I didn't think was utterly ridiculous.

I personally like No country, but I don't know why it won so many Oscars, though I agreed on Javier Bardem winning the Best Supporting Actor Oscar. Other Coen movie I watched is Fargo, now this one I really2 like. It just full of dark humor and quirky. | |
