Are you scare to see a gun yourself? |
|
From my personal opinion, one of weakness of our nation is allowing people to access gun easily. I don't know how easy people get their guns, they might use it for wrong reason in a wrong time, wrong place. Yesterday, I went over my friend's apartment and help him fix his television. He showed that he recently registered a handgun, and he show it to me while he was playing with it like a toy. Although the bullets are emptied from the magazine. I just not comfortable to see it. I told him stash away, and it wasn't a toy. What if it was backfire, and it accidentally loaded while there was a child present, or another innocent people at the scene. I just not comfortable to have a gun or see it myself. 2 out of 4 of my friends possess a handgun, and I just still don't understand why the government so easily allow people to purchase it.

In fact I was able to fire one and it was so cool!:) As you were saying, I think the government already did their best to keep the safety and interest of its people. It's the people's interest that can't be stop no matter what the government do. There's this black market where in people can illegally transact things. Government can't always stop that.:) Good day to you..

clorissa123 (3548) | 1 month ago | Well, I have different opinion than yours on this matter. You have no idea how many innocent people die of this gun shooting matter. We still couldn't solve it. How many people unreasonably fire that shot, and keep others. How many teens bring the gun to school and rampantly shot on others.

shadow41 (801) | 1 month ago | Yes we have different opinions on this but you're wrong about me. I hate violence too and of course I know lots of innocent people die everyday because of guns. All I'm saying is that the government can't stop this. It depends on us people. And it's a fact that not all people has a heart as good as yours. Of course there will be those bad guys everywhere.

clorissa123 (3548) | 1 month ago | Well, in the states, people get access to gun easily. Because our government indulge them. They should strict the use of gun. On my above example, my friend shimply register it with license, and they could have a gun themselves. I knew my friends are good people, but you never gonna know when they gone insane. Our human nature is totally unpredictable. All we can do just restrict the use of the fire arms.

2. spalladino (8975) | 1 month ago | Owning a gun is one of our constitutional rights and a very important one at that. Everyone has the right to be able to defend himself, against an intruder or even our own government if it came to that. If you're not comfortable around guns, that's fine, but don't think that it's okay for anyone to enforce their beliefs on others.

3. ethanonthemoon (342) | 1 month ago | Who would not be? If a person suddenly jumped on me, put a gun on my face, I'd be scared shi*less (sorry for the remark).
A robbery was committed just last Sunday, in broad daylight, in a mall, packed with hundreds of people. A shootout ensued. One of the robbers had been shot and instantly killed. The rest of the robbers made the escape with millions worth of Rolex watch in their loot. And what's more was, they not only had handguns but automatic rifles and grenade launchers.
Good thing I was not in that mall. But the thought of a shootout and guns and such is scary.

4. dlr297 (2798) | 1 month ago | Guns do not scare me at all. The Constitution of the United States gives everyone the right to bear arms. It is one of the rights that this country was built on. If the Government steeped in and took them away from us, they would be destroying the constitution and all that would happen is that the ones with the guns would be the criminals, and the rest of us would have no way of defending ourselves from them.

clorissa123 (3548) | 1 month ago | But how could you explain that teens possess gun and bring them to school and start the spree shooting. And man who lost his employment, and desperately bring a gun to his workplace and killing his co - workers and manager. So, and so, because people get easily access to gun.

dlr297 (2798) | 1 month ago | People that will do the types of things that you have mentioned are going to get their hands on guns no matter what. and if they do not use a gun they will kill or hurt someone another way. They are out to hurt and kill and will do it any way they can they are not doing it because they have easy access to a gun.
People have the right to protect them selves, from people that try to do them harm

7. doryvien (904) | 1 month ago | Hi clorissa,
Just the thought of having someone carry a gun around scares me, I'm not used to seeing one except on movies. Maybe when I witness an actual shooting I'd freak out. I remember back in the province we had a neighbor who was a policeman, and he had a habit of firing his gun indiscriminately whenever he's drunk. No one wanted to report him to the authorities for fear of becoming the target. I was so young then but I remember I always cursed him silently for scaring all of us, his neighbors.

-Second Amendment, United States Bill of Rights
I'm not so scared of seeing a gun, unless it's aimed right at my face by another person and already loaded.
I may be a pacifist as I stated earlier, but even I have a liking, even a taste, for firearms and guns. That's why first-person shooter games are my favorite because it's stress relief to me. I can take up a weapon in video games/virtual reality and take virtual lives, but I won't do the same in the real world. I can take an insect's life because they're a nuisance, but I don't take human lives or animals. I DON'T want blood or a criminal record on my hands that I can't wash away from. That's why I don't own any guns at all. I just want to do the right thing. I don't own guns in real life, but I own games with guns in video games.
Besides, i've already faced a dictator in my family and the only thing that put him away was my cameraphone last year. Only cameras and camcorders are my weapons of proof and evidence, and memory cards are my ammunition.

9. irene3184 (669) | 1 month ago | I have work in a gun store before and I tell you that government has no hold for people who have the authority to purchase gun. They have to submit certain requirements before the gun store allow them to purchase. I am not scared because since I was a child I always saw a gun with my father because he is a soldier and he won't allow anyone to play it because it's forbidden though it does not have bullet to reload.
