NBA Team Rankings | | | | 1. Los Angeles Lakers The Lakers are the returning NBA champs and have brought back their major contributers from last season. They also have the addition of Ron Artest who is going to be a defensive presence that some feel the Lakers may still lack at times. Expect another NBA Finals appearance. 2. Cleveland Cavaliers Lebron James still has the bitter taste in his mouth from losing the East Conference Finals last year and coming off an MVP season don't expect him to slow down. The addition of Shaq will pay off as you see them checking into the NBA Finals. 3. San Antonio Spurs Surprised? You shouldn't be. The Spurs still have all the major parts to be and contend for a championship. You have Tim Duncan who know how to win along with Tony Parker who is still one of the premier point guards in the NBA. This team lives and dies with their ability to stay healthy. Outside of Phil Jackson, Gregg Papovich is probably the best coach in the NBA. Expect a WCF appearance and hanging with the Lakers for 6 or 7 games. 4. Boston Celtics While they aren't getting any younger, the big three can still win and they brought extra fire power this year. The addition of Rasheed Wallace will help with their already great defense. Outside of Kevin Garnett and his knee staying intact, Rajon Rondo holds the key to the Celtics success. If he has a big year so will the Celtics. 5. Denver Nuggets Carmelo and Chauncey have become a great pair and by far were a pleasure to watch in last years playoffs. They dominated every team they came across until they ran into the Lakers. Carmelo will flirt with the MVP crown this season so expect some good things coming out of Denver. 6. Orlando Magic A very solid team, but you can't get better when you get rid of your best play maker Turkoglu and replace him with a guy like Vince Carter. He has been declining over the last two seasons and I don't see an end in sight. Plus the Magic will already have a set back when the season begins having to deal with Rashard Lewis suspension. It is going to take a while before Lewis and Carter to get on the same page. On a brighter side though they still have Dwight Howard. 7. Portland Trail Blazers Just a few short seasons ago this team was one of the worst in the NBA and seemed to have no hope in sight. With Brandon Roy, Steve Blake, and Greg Oden they have one of the best young teams in the NBA. Inexperience will be the killer since they will probably get bounced in the second round of the playoffs, but it's a step in the right direction. 8. Dallas Mavericks Dirk, Kidd, Marion, and Josh Howard. Kind of sounds like an all-star team. This team is puzzling. They have never fully recovered since they gave the series away to Miami in the championship, but expect them win there 50 games and try to contend. If they can pull it together and get the playoff blues out of their head they can definitely move up the list. 9. Atlanta Hawks They have youth, but the injury bug still lingers. It's an easy equation that if you stay healthy you can easily contend. Remember this was the team that contended with the Celtics on their way to a championship and taking them seven games. Stay healthy and good things will happen. 10. Closing out the top 10 I have to go with the Utah Jazz. Boozer and Williams need to stay healthy for this team to be taken seriously. Kirilenko is another guy who needs to step up if this team has any hope of getting a 5th seed in order to escape a beating from the Lakers, Spurs, or Nuggets. While the playoffs is a definite, an early exit in the first round is a possibility too. Remaining List 11. Phoenix Suns 12. Philadelphia 76ers 13. Toronto Raptors 14. New Orleans Hornets 15. Los Angeles Clippers 16. Miami Heat 17. Detroit Pistons 18. Chicago Bulls 19. Houston Rockets 20. Indiana Pacers 21. New York Knicks 22. Washington Wizards 23. Oklahoma Thunder 24. Golden State Warriors 25. Charlotte Bobcats 26. New Jersey Nets 27. Memphis Grizzlies 28. Milwaukee Bucks 29. Minnesota Timberwolves 30. Sacramento Kings It is going to be another exciting season filled with dreams and hopes being shattered and all the buzzer beaters you can ask for. I can't wait!!! | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | |

| | That was great of you putting all these stuff nba rankings. Where did you get these information? Are the Denver Nuggets ranked better than Orlando Magic. I think that Orlando Magic should come first before the Denver Nuggets. But anyway, that is just a ranking and the action will speak for itself. I hope that those teams that are supposed to be at the top would prove themselves. The cavaliers would be a good team to watch. Happy basketball viewing. | | | | | | | | nvdbball27 (61)

| | I got my information from basic knowledge about the game, player statistics, and various other sporting sites and based my opinion off of that. I'd have to say I myself was almost sold on the magic to put them hire. To me though I have to many questions about the team to put them ahead of the Denver Nuggets. First of all the abscence of Rashard Lewis due to his suspension. When he comes back will he be in shape and play at a high level or will the suspension effect his play for a while? Another question I have is the chemistry level with Vince Carter. Will they be able to quickly be on the same page and both be able to distribute in a positive way together? Vince Carter is a question of mine as well. Throughout his career he has been able to score, but production value has begun to drop over the last few seasons. If he can get back into the form he was in three years ago I have no doubt that Orlando would move ahead of Denver. Denver doesn't have the questions that Orlando has though. Denver already showed great chemistry especially with Billups and Anthony. Even when the trade went down last year they quickly hit it off and had instant success. I expect that to continue right from the season start. | | | | | | | $17 Wholesale Jerseys Shop All NFL/NHL/MLB teams Jerseys,Up 10pcs Free shipping www.olJerseys.com | add comment | | | |

| | NBA rankings and stats, one of my favorites. Anyway, here's my view. 1.) Los Angeles Lakers - The Lakers kept their championship core minus Trevor Ariza but got a much better Ron Artest in return. Artest's better defensive abilities will be too valuable for the Lakers especially that other teams have upgraded their rosters very well. Individual numbers might take a little dip for some players but the Lakers just got deeper. Another MVP season for Kobe Bryant and probably a sixth man award for Lamar Odom? 2.) Orlando Magic - Could this be a possible Lakers-Magic rematch? Vince Carter is doing well with the Magic and barring any injuries, the Magic can go far with him. Carter's versatility in scoring can take much offensive load from Dwight Howard. Orlando is loaded with good wing players in Carter, Rashard Lewis, Mickael Pietrus, and Matt Barnes. Brandon Bass' addition makes Orlando's frontcourt more formidable. 3.) San Antonio Spurs - Nothing much to say, Richard Jefferson fills in the hole in San Antonio's line-up. How about this for a first five: Antonio McDyess, Tim Duncan, Richard Jefferson, Manu Ginobili, and Tony Parker. Coming from the bench are Michael Finley, Roger Mason, George Hill, and hopefully revelations from DeJuan Blair and Ian Mahinmi. As long as Greg Popovich is calling the shots, San Antonio's going to be up there in the West. 4.) Cleveland Cavaliers - At 36 years of age, Shaquille O'Neal can still play basketball. Shaq gives the Cavaliers a more dominating presence inside and makes the Cavaliers a much deeper team. Though Shaq might steal some limelight away, Cleveland is still obviously LeBron James' team. A 27-point, 7-rebound, and 7-assist season is highly probable for James. What's more scary? Shaq takes much load away from James which means lesser defense for James. 5.) Denver Nuggets - Though Carmelo Anthony piles up the stats, I'd really love to say that Denver is Anthony and Chauncey Billups' team. Nene's improvement after Marcus Camby's departure will help the team so much. The man on the spot for the Nuggets is JR Smith. Smith can average close to 20 points in a game for the 2009-2010 season. 6.) Boston Celtics - Age can take it's toll. Kevin Garnett is back and Rasheed Wallace is with the Celtics. Rajon Rondo is taking over as Boston's top man and will be the Celtics' marked man. Paul Pierce and Ray Allen can still light up those stats sheets but if they've got to go far, they need more than Garnett, Wallace, and Glen Davis to stop Dwight Howard and Shaquille O'Neal. Though they might pull it off with their experience, Orlando and Cleveland is much deeper than them in the East. 7.) Dallas Mavericks - Time and again, the Mavericks owns one (or if not) of the deepest rosters season after season. The addition of Shawn Marion gives Dallas an instant one-on-one defender, something they need if they've got to keep up with the likes of Kobe Bryant and LeBron James. Dallas has the most versatile line-up for the season and add to that Dirk Nowitzki's scoring ability and torrid shooting and Jason Kidd's experience, they are Finals bound with such roster (not unless they choke once again). 8.) Portland Trail Blazers - What's so scary about this team is that they're too young yet too good. Brandon Roy can have another MVP type of season while Greg Oden can break out. What's more? LaMarcus Aldridge, Rudy Fernandez, and Steve Blake can all provide valuable support for the Blazers. Add a veteran Andre Miller and Juwan Howard, the Blazers are expected to go high this season. Second round perhaps? 9.) New Orleans Hornets - Emeka Okafor might finally find a home and better situation with the Hornets. If Okafor can blend in well with Chris Paul, David West, and the rest of the Hornets' game, they can head back beyond the first round of the playoffs once again. Peja Stojakovic is still in town. 10.) Los Angeles Clippers - This is a steal for me. Barring injuries, the Clippers can make it far. They've got a good line-up in Baron Davis, Chris Kaman, Marcus Camby, Eric Gordon, and number 1 overall draft pick Blake Griffin. Add a good support cast of veteran Ricky Davis, guard Sebastian Telfair, and forward Al Thornton. A 7th or 8th spot in the West is good enough for the Clips. Rounding up the list are: 11.) Atlanta Hawks 12.) Utah Jazz 13.) Toronto Raptors 14.) Miami Heat 15.) Washington Wizards 16.) Phoenix Suns 17.) Philadelphia 76ers 18.) Chicago Bulls 19.) Detroit Pistons 20.) Golden State Warriors 21.) Indiana Pacers 22.) Oklahoma City Thunder 23.) Charlotte Bobcats 24.) Houston Rockets 25.) Memphis Grizzlies 26.) Milwaukee Bucks 27.) Minnesota Timberwolves 28.) New York Knicks 29.) Sacramento Kings 30.) New Jersey Nets | | | | | | | | nvdbball27 (61)

| | I love how you put "barring injury" for the Clippers. The injury bug alright struck with Black Griffen. I will give them some credit though that they hung in there with the Lakers, however as the Clippers had an injury in Blake Griffen so did the Lakers with Gasol out. The Lakers showed their depth last night by always providing an answer when the Clippers made any type of run. I just think you gave the Clippers a little too much credit by putting them in the top 10. | | | | boybato (2210)

| | With the line-up that they have, they are indeed that strong (at least on paper). Maybe they can duplicate the feat the Clippers team that had Elton Brand and Sam Cassell which made it to the second round of the playoffs (I think that was 2006). I just hope that they can finally get over the injury jinx (they have the same fate as the Houston Rockets). Anyway, back to back loses for the Clippers in their first two games (Lakers and Suns). Blake Griffin probably have made a difference in those games. | | | | | nvdbball27 (61)

| | yea, I'm sure he could have made a difference. Even 14 pts and 10 rebounds would be a productive start. Kind of like what Blair has done for the Spurs in the first game. I didn't check out the game game stats for tonight, but from what I saw for the five minutes in the game he seemed like he did well. | | | | boybato (2210)

| | Griffin actually didn't play for the Clippers in their first game against the Lakers and the second against the Suns, kinda a bad debut for him, his debut was on the bench in street clothes. Griffin will be out for about 6 weeks due to an injury but pretty sure when he comes back, he'll make an immediate impact for the Clippers. 14 points and 10 rebounds a game for his rookie season is kinda realistic for him considering that the Clippers have Baron Davis and Eric Gordon but I'm optimistic that he can average more than that. Probably 17 points and 11 rebounds a game? | | | | | nvdbball27 (61)

| | Ya I was aware the Griffen didn't play. I was refering to blair. Honestly Griffen is going to be one of those guys who is either really dominant or is a flop. He has the potential to get at least 17 and 11 a game. His agressiveness is key to his succes. Don't know how he would fair up against a team like the Cavs who have very big interior players. A team like the Suns I wouldn't be surprised if he could put 24 plus on. All depends how agressive he stays. Games I am definitely interested in seeing him play if he returns for them are Dec 8th against the Magic, Dec 13th against the Spurs, Dec 27th against the Celtics, and January 6th against the Lakers. First off you will have a great matchup between Dwight and Griffen and it will really give you a chance to see Griffens true talents against one of the better defenders in the leauge as well as a strong presence down in the paint. Duncan could form a problem for Griffen. While I would expect Griffen to get his points I am more curious how he does defensively against a finess player like Duncan. Celtics are pretty much the same thing as with Dwight. How will Griffen handle strong defense from Garnett (if Garnett stays healthy)? Then finally the Lakers are by far the biggest test due to their deep bench. Griffen is going to have to handle Gasol, Andrew B, and Odom. Your always looking at a fresh set of legs when having to deal with those three. If he doesn't tire in that game I won't tire on believing he can be a dominante player. 17 and 11 isn't out of the question, but look at those games definitely to see what type of impact he rally has on his team. How did you like the Nuggets by the way? Melo has looked pretty impressive thus far. They beat one of my favorite up and coming teams last night and Melo dropped 40 points. Looking forward to them having to play the Lakers and Spurs to get a feel how good this team is. Plus they got some depth now in the point guard position with Ty Lawson. I wasn't quite sure what to expect from him, but he dropped 17 in the first game and had a solid 7 pts in only 17 minutes last night. Looking forward to what else he can bring to that team. Also too got to give a shout out to my Bulls last night for winning their opener against the Spurs. Very surprising to me since I thought they were going to lose by at least 13. | | | | boybato (2210)

| | With his inexperience, I don't see Mike Dunleavy putting Blake Griffin on the likes of Kevin Garnett, Tim Duncan, Chris Bosh, and Dwight Howard defensively. The Clippers have Marcus Camby and Chris Kaman to do that job. With the line-up the Clippers have, Griffin has the potential to become the go-to-guy of the Clippers. In their first three games, Baron Davis' scoring average took a skid while Kaman led the team in scoring. Davis is playing more point guard role and when Griffin returns, that gives Davis more options. Regarding the Nuggets, the emergence of Carmelo Anthony and the presence of Chauncey Billups makes them remain as one of the elites in the West. A strong season coming from Nene and JR Smith could ice another bid in the Western Conference Finals. | | | | | nvdbball27 (61)

| | Hey I am definitely getting ready to hop on the Nuggets band wagon. They are lookign good even without JR Smith especially with great play from Ty Lawson. I love their line-up and they are much deeper than I expected they would be especially since they didn't make any big off season moves. Instead they so far took the best player in the draft and easily front runner for Rookie of the Year. | | | | | | | training for basketball The Most Innovative Basketball Training Aids Available SKLZ.com/Basketball | add comment | | | |
