Chicks Being Ground Up Alive

This makes my bloood boil, the people doing this are beneath contempt,

Nothing gory in the footage inside the article, just shows footage of chicks being thrown into grinder.

Thats bad enough, thats what I figured, I saw the poor wee things,

Admittedly, that's what upset me also

I do too..I just wish there was something we could do to make them do it less cruelly.

Their beaks get lasered first, as the speaker says, there's nerve endings in those beaks, that alone would be excruciating as it is, then the rejected males being thrown into grinder.

And even when they're sorting by hand, they do it so cruelly, and as it goes along the conveyer belt onto a train that sorts for living or dead chicks, the smaller ones can accidentally fall through into boiling water.

If they at modified the conveyor belts so the healthy chicks didn't fall through to suffer and be boiled alive... or if they added a part of the machinery that perhaps beheads them first so they don't suffer...shouldn't cost them that much to do considering the sales of chickens and eggs worldwide...

I'm hoping and praying this doesn't happen in Australia.. it's bad enough it happens overseas. But as the narrator says, this is normal practice in the entire industry, so it has me wondering about it now.

I know in the past, we've given power to the people by boycotting goods, if it is happening here in Oz, I'd like to make enough noise so that enough people will boycott the culprits so they could at least modify their equipment to make it more humane (see my answer to previous member)
