Not excited about this upcoming season! |
|
How can I be? My team is always re-building Milwaukee Bucks! There are so many selfish and arrogant players like LeBron James,Shaquille O'Neal and Kobe Bryant! The NBA is not fun anymore! The NBA needs to be more like they were in the '80's when there was Showtime,Magic Johnson,Larry Bird and the Lakers/celtic match ups! Maybe then I could get excited again!

I will get to see my Mavs back in action again. The Mavericks have a couple of new players and they are more athletic now. Can't to see them again.:)

| 2. rocketseance (45) | 3 months ago | Lol! I like the Bucks too! I think I am going to have the same stretch as yours with my Pistons.
Quite funny how everyone around Michael Redd changes but he's still there. Man, he was there when Ray Allen was still there. The man is loyal. I think he knows he won't be the marquee player anywhere else.
But keep the faith. Rooting for the less popular team is actually what makes it fun... at least for me.

blue65packer (1886) | 3 months ago | Michael Redd has been with the Bucks forever it seems! They get rid of everyone else but he stays! This is one reason I get so frustrated with the Bucks! Seeing all the coaching changes aren't helping that either! So will see how this season goes! Happy Mylotting!

3. boybato (523) | 3 months ago | Oh well, probably your disinterest just grown because your team, the Bucks, aren't doing quite well. Pretty sure if either Kobe Bryant, LeBron James, or even the old Shaquille O'Neal is playing for the Bucks you won't say that they are arrogant (no pun intended). The NBA is still as good as it is. Though the brand of basketball that it offers is already different from what it used to be (Lakers and Celtics of the 80's and Bulls of the 90's), it is still entertaining. The players are getting more and more athletic than before. Though we no longer see some Magic Johnson, Larry Bird, and Michael Jordan acts, we have some top class players in Bryant, James, Tim Duncan, and even Chris Paul to name a few. These players are good enough and leaders in their own right who can lead their teams to a good number of wins day in and day out.
With the addition of Ron Artest, the Lakers are groomed to have at least 2 more titles before Bryant retires (provided that they keep Bryant, Artest, and Pau Gasol). The 2009-2010 season is expected to be a big one for the NBA. Aside from Artest going to the Lakers, other teams have improved their line-ups too. The 2008-09 season runner-up Orlando Magic added a noted scorer in Vince Carter, the Lakers Western Conference rivals San Antonio Spurs added veteran forwards Richard Jefferson and Antonio McDyess, Western Conference contenders Dallas Mavericks have Shawn Marion, Drew Gooden, and Tim Thomas (probably the deepest team for the 2009-2010 season), and the Lakers arch-rivals the Boston Celtics have added veteran forward Rasheed Wallace (not to mention the return of Kevin Garnett).
With such team changes, the 2009-2010 season is going to be a very exciting one. Apart from such contenders getting stronger, there are also a lot of players to look out for. 2009 number one overall draft pick Blake Griffin is expected to have a big season while young guns like Derrick Rose, OJ Mayo, Rajon Rondo, and Danny Granger (to name a few) can have a monster seasons of their own. How about Allen Iverson in Memphis? That's something to look out for too.

blue65packer (1886) | 3 months ago | Thanks for the response! I know NBA players are morse athletic then when Magic and Bird were around! I know there is alot of great players like Kobe,LeBron and Chris Paul. I just have a problem with some of the arrogant attitudes like Kobe's, LeBron's and Ron Artest's! I feel there aren't alot of players you care for other people but themselves! These players make millions and few ahare the wealth with the needy people! This is one reason I have been having trouble getting into the NBA lately! I guess the older I get the more sinacal I get!

boybato (523) | 3 months ago | I think such kind of players are already in the NBA eversince. The Pistons were tagged as the "bad boys" before during the time of Bill Laimbeer and Dennis Rodman and their kind of basketball, the New York Knicks as well especially when they play the Chicago Bulls in the playoffs. Players with attitude problems will always be in the NBA, other professional sports, and even in all areas in professional fields. Dennis Rodman have it as well as Rasheed Wallace and not it was passed on to the likes of Ron Artest and Stephon Marbury. Allen Iverson used to be a spoiled brat too before. I think LeBron James ain't that arrogant but personally, I don't like him much because of the hype that is given to him. He's good, way too better than a lot of players in the NBA but he still haven't proven himself as a true leader. Being swept in the NBA Finals is not a good line in his resume. Kobe Bryant on the other hand have already matured. He used to whine a lot but I think it was justified. He was able to lead the Lakers twice to the Finals without Shaquille O'Neal and won it once. He's a leader now and it won't be surprising to see him and the Lakers win it again.
Probably the main concern is the hiphop culture in the NBA. Players get too cocky and think that because they're in the NBA, they already think that they're way too special. We've seen and heard the likes of Latrell Sprewell, Stephon Marbury, and lately Allen Iverson (well, good for AI Memphis signed him, if not, he's jobless). Attitude problem is abound the NBA and as a fan, it really doesn't concern me much. I just love to watch thrilling basketball games, accurate shooting, high flying dunks, suffocating defense, and mesmerizing moves.

4. tokouchi (126) | 2 months ago | The Bucks is one of the poorer franchises in the league so you really can't expect much. But if Bogut doesn't get injuries and Redd grows back to form and with your rookie Jennings, what is there not to be excited about? At least you making strides unlike other franchises that seem locked to the cellar like Sac-town.

blue65packer (1886) | 2 months ago | Ya I guess the Packers have made strides. I'll see it when we ge better! You are right about Sac-town! They are not getting out of the cellar! Ever since they started cleaning house a few years ago they have really gone down hill!
