Have you tried the envelope system to save money?

So I've decided to try a new budget system I've read a lot about online- the Envelope System. The specifics vary, but essentially you take out the amount of cash that is your budget and stick it in an envelope. The money has to last for whatever time period you choose. So if you run out before the time is up, you've gone through your budget and you're done.
Have you tried it yet?

Never thought or heard about that but it looks like a good self programing to myself. I guess, I will give it a try, thanx Lxandra for sharing this, might be useful. I still don't figure what will I do if...saying the limit is in 2 days and I already spent my budget. Blame myself and adding more negative energy to my old mind or starvation? I will be back with my personal experience :)
