I Had Such A Wonderful Weekend!! Wow!!

Oh if you only knew how happy I was that night and the whole weekend!! Mom and I really talked like we haven't done in a very long time. My chest has been so tight for so long and now it's very light and happy. Imagine that! We even talked about when she and dad leave this world, how they want their funerals to go. THAT was so needed because I didn't know what they wanted but now I do and we're even going to meet with the Priest to get more information.
You know, I think it all came about from that conversation that we had that night when mom said she felt that we were growing apart. I didn't deny it one bit and told her that I felt that way too and felt every bit of it. I think that shook her to the core and kind of made her wake up a bit. However, I know my mother, she can change on a dime so I'm enjoying every bit of this "good" moments as I can because I so need them and so does she.
They're coming over for dinner tonight, homemade chicken and dumplings, good food for cold weather. I get to show her my trees in my yard that have turned to bright orange, the video "Note to God", the building that hubby is building for our cars and what not, and a few other things that I want to show her. She'll have a great time, I'm sure and so will I!
About your house apes, lol, they don't have electricity because they're still sponging off of you!! You really need to change that or you're going to be continuing to pay for their electricity.

You don't think mom's spell didn't last long? LOL It was longer than I could handle, that's for sure. Too much for any one person especially when they're alone doing everything. If you wouldn't mind, read my response above because it explains a bit more and well, some don't like me to repeat so I try not to.... even copy and paste. Maybe I shouldn't worry about that but I do and want every response to be personable but then I wonder, well gee, it is the same story of what happened and so should I change it any? I don't know, maybe I'm reading too much into it and should continue the copy and paste anyway. What do you think?

Her spell could have been alot longer. We don't want her to have any, but did not develop into anything worse, is what I wanted to say I guess. It is hard to watch things like that and not be able to do anything about them. I am just glad she was able to come around and enjoy her time with you. I think it is ok to reference back or to copy and paste. It should not bother anyone.

Oh you said it perfectly GG!! The air is light, my chest doesn't feel so tight and I'm so happy and so is my mom! I just hope and pray that it continues for the rest of our time together. I think she's realizing how much she affects me when she's down like that or with her negative attitude and how much we do do for her and dad. She knows I don't want to be on any pedestal but to be loved and to see her smile. Now I'm going to ask you to look at the first response because I left a little more detail. I don't want to do a copy and paste out of fear it'll offend someone and I'd much rather it be personable and not offensive at all.

Hey Paula! Can you believe it? I'm still in this surreal moment and don't ever want it to end!! I've had so much grief and heartache for the past year and a half and now to be finally free of it, I feel like a bird ready to take flight! lol Now if we can get my brothers on the same page, now that would be a miracle in itself. Oh Marti! I'm so sorry about your mom. It's good though that she went before she knew what was happening and didn't have time to ponder the whole situation but sad at the same time. But I am even more happy to know that you two had that one week together. It's those times of memories that helps us get through the bad times. I just hope mine lasts longer but I know how it can go.

Chicken and dumplings was my sister's favorite meal. I used to make it for her each year on her birthday. My recipe took 5 hours of preparation but was worth every minute of it. The last 5 years of her life, she was in a nursing center and I'd make her chicken and dumplings and take it to her in a crock pot. She would reserve a small, private room with tables and chairs and the whole family would get together there. She would open her presents, we'd eat, then have cake and her favorite ice cream, butter pecan. It was always so enjoyable.

I really miss making that for my sister. Her eyes always lit up when she saw it and she always seemed to eat just a bit too much. LOL I miss it, but I do have those great memories to cherish.

Most weekends are wonderful as long as everything is going smoothly. I agree about Mondays - YUCK! lol

I don't mind you doing that at all, cat. I'm just always glad to hear from u,however u do it. This is so wonderful for u & i hope w/all my heart that it lasts. I know u feel like a different person. I hope your mom realizes it's up to her to behave & be nice to u. I really don't know what she thinks she would do w/out u. It is so sad the way parents treat their grown kids sometimes. It's usually the ones that are doing the most for them to. I never got to a good place w/my mother but i wanted to but she was just not interested in going to that place w/me, sad but true. Thanks for your kind words bing. I'm just so happy that it turned out like it did. I think they're realizing how much I DO care and DO want to help but that I can't do it all even if I tried. Some day I'll be in your shoes but I'm not wishing for it to happen but still know it's going to some day but I'll have these happy memories and no regrets for I know I've done all I can and still do. Hold your memories close to your heart! Your mom knew you loved her and I just know that she loved you too, very much!!
