Humanity in 10 generations from now. | | I found this article on Yahoo, and thought that it was interesting, and I think that this would be a very fun discussion:
http://news.yahoo.com/s/time/20091024/hl_time/08599193175700
Is this true? Is humanity still evolving? Do we feel like we are all still evolving? What will we be like in another 1,000 years from now? Who or what will we be? What will out genetic make-up be like?
Is this statement true: "Uniquely in the living world, what makes humans what we are is in our minds, in our society, and not in our evolution."
Let's have everyone's thoughts. I think that this is fascinating. Even to those of you who don't believe in Evolution, you have to wonder what we are? What makes us who we are? And what will we eventually become? What kind of people are we now compared to what we were hundreds of years ago?

I didn't click on the other one I saw because I was skeptical and didn't believe we could possibly be still evolving, but maybe. With the increasing usage of technology such as computers, video games, television, cellphones, and so forth, most people spend a lot more time playing with gadgets and a whole lot less time exercising and spending time outdoors, so we're getting fatter.

rogue13xmen13 (7210) | 2 months ago | That is very true. The average size of an American woman, and I am one of these average size women, is a size 14. Can you believe that. My mother once told me that the average size of a woman was a size 6 or 8. What happened? When did we become an average size of 14? We are not working out, we are not getting the proper exercise that we all need, and our diets are not what they should be. We need to fight for healthier diets, we need to get away from our computer for a few hours and go jogging or walking, and we need to evaluate what our life styles will like in several years to come if we keep doing things the way we are doing them now. Hopefully, it will not come to that, but one tends to wonder, what will we really be like several generations down the road?
