are todays generation obey their parents? are you?

I think today's generation obeys their parents. The only problem is that the generation gap between the parents and their kids is getting bigger and this leads to misunderstandings. I obey and respect my parents. Occasionally I have not obeyed them but those are mostly trivial issues and my parents did not get hurt. They sometimes fail to understand certain things that I do or want. They think in terms of their age and I think in terms of mine.
One example that comes in my mind was when I wanted to buy my own cell phone. My father was dead against it at first. I also needed it as my friends were having problem in keeping in touch with me. So I bought the cell phone with my own money and then I explained to my father the reasons for buying the phone. He understood and someone can say that I had disobeyed my father but maybe he would not agree.

i hope every1 follows their parents but times come when u really wish to do something and ur parents oppose u
in such a case the childrens may not listen what their parents sa y but
coming to generation yes u can say the new generation is not so obedient
So its all the thought process of the new generation
no body can alter it

of course we need to listen to them. they are our parents right.
