 Hello my lot, i use the a.v.g anti-virus 8 free version and up date it about every two to three days but recently i got a message saying that there is a new version out (version 9) and i should go and upgrade to the new one, i know that a.v.g 8 is free do you think that the new version is free also or is there a price?

I am using AVG free too and getting the message "AVG free edition 9.0 is now available. To stay protected you will have to upgrade your version". I checked their site and it says to download the free 9.0 version. There are options to download both online or offline setup files. I am sure it is the upgrade only to a new version and we will not have to pay for this one for sure. However you can check their official site to be sure.

| 3. stealthy (2844) | 4 weeks ago |  I have the bought version of AVG that I got when I had to take my computer in for repair due to a virus infection. I got a notice about a free upgrade to 9.0 which I assume includes all the extras that the bought version has. During the installation it ran a scan to identify trusted files, etc. to greatly reduce the scan time which is great.
