Hello StickyWoo! Going out to a person second year older than you is not a problem. I don't see any wrong with it. I actually married a man a lot older than me. We've been together for a year now and I love it because he understands me a he treats me like a baby. So if he is a nice guy and you're connected, go for it and don't let him go.

I see on your profile you are 16 years old, and when I was 16 years old I went out with older guys as well, quite normal I think.
You are an adult now, and I dont think a couple of years is anything out of the ordinary at all.

I really believe that age doesn't really matter much in a relationship. What could matter more is the maturity level of both persons and that if are they both at the same level of maturity, especially emotionally and psychologically. There are many couples out there whose age gap is huge enough yet they were still able to work their relationship out, in fact, they have a very great and healthy relationship.

So my thought? It's really ok to go out with somebody older (or younger) than you in years. Just shrug the age factor off and focus on the things that both of you can do in order to make your relationship strong, deep, and healthier. The better part of having a partner who's older in years is that he/she can be more mature and could take the lead in the relationship (this is highly advisable for women with older men). Just be aware though because such age gap can take a toll on both of you. Because of the age level that either of you are in, either of you might have different interests that might not gel well with each other. These are warning signs and you should not take it lightly. If you see it, talk about it to your partner and compromise. Decide on something that both of you are willing to agree on. This is one pitfall that many couples with huge age gaps fall into, they fail to recognize each other's need to the point that it becomes the cause of stress in their relationship.

Each and every relationship will have it's possible causes of stress and age gap could be one of them. But if approached in the right way, it really won't matter after all.

welcome to the wonderful world of mylot sticky. i am married to a woman who is 4 years older than me. nobody told me that is was not okay. why do you have to listen to them. it is for you to decide. he maybe older than you but if that person is the one who is perfectly fit for you then it does not matter if that person is older. i have a friend her husband is younger than her 8 years. at first they look like brother and sister because of the age gap, but now they look like a cute couple. they are married for 10 years already and has four children.

as long as i'm happy and i'm not doing anything wrong then i won't give a damn on other people's thoughts.
